Exploring Life & Business with Chadwick Burnaw of Latin City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chadwick Burnaw

Hi Chadwick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started hosting Caribbean music parties back in 2015 during college. At some point I started hosting brunches too. When the pandemic hit I decided to pivot to outdoor events in the form of food markets. That quickly became the Sazon Latin Food Festival. I quickly started testing out the concept in other cities to see if there was a market for it, following the same process as when I started. I found that the answer was yes and now we operate in 8 cities across 3 states.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nope, not smooth at all. We’ve been building the plane as we fly it from day one. There’s been so much to learn and most of it has been self taught. Understanding pricing and regulation have been the biggest challenges. Also, understanding the needs of our clients was a big learning curve for us in the beginning.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Latin City?
I run Sazón Latin Food Festival, a food festival business dedicated to bringing the vibrancy, culture, and flavors of Latin America to cities across the country. With nearly three years of experience, we’ve grown into a well-recognized name in the festival industry, drawing thousands of attendees to each event. At Sazón, we specialize in creating authentic experiences that celebrate Latin culture through food, music, and community, making it more than just an event—it’s a full cultural experience.

What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity, quality, and community. We’re not just about putting on an event; we focus on experiences that truly reflect the diverse heritage of Latin America. Our team selects vendors who bring unique, regionally-inspired dishes, and we work hard to create a welcoming, festive environment that feels like a real celebration of Latin culture. Our approach to working with vendors and partners is unique in that it’s designed to support their success and help them build connections through each event.

Brand-wise, I’m incredibly proud of the reputation we’ve built as a trusted, culturally authentic, and inclusive festival. We’re known not only for the quality of our events but also for our strong community engagement. Watching small, local businesses grow because of their exposure at Sazón events is immensely rewarding, and it truly reflects our brand values.

I’d love for your readers to know that Sazón Latin Food Festivals are more than just festivals—they’re a celebration of Latin culture and community. We bring together a vibrant array of vendors offering everything from street-style tacos to traditional arepas and unique Latin fusion dishes, alongside artisans who showcase handcrafted goods inspired by Latin American culture. Ultimately, Sazón is a place for anyone who loves Latin food, music, and culture to come together, celebrate, and enjoy a genuine cultural experience.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Living in Miami, going to the beach with my grandmother or fishing with my grandfather.
