Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanell Gladney.
Hi Chanell, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey didn’t start from a place of clarity, it started in survival mode.
I experienced childhood trauma, became a teen mom at the age of 14, and later found myself navigating homelessness, domestic violence, and narcissistic abuse. For a long time, I was doing what many women do—functioning on the outside while silently struggling on the inside, trying to hold everything together without fully addressing what I had been through.
The turning point came when I realized that survival wasn’t sustainable. I had to do the deeper work of healing… not just managing life, but truly confronting the patterns, the pain, and the identity I had formed through those experiences. That process required me to rebuild from the inside out — spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
As I began to heal, I also began to see how many other women were navigating similar cycles… high-functioning, strong, and capable, yet still carrying unresolved trauma and operating from survival mode. That awareness led me to step into my purpose.
Today, I am an Identity & Leadership Strategist, also known as The Identity Architect™, and the Founder/CEO of FlourishHER Enterprises LLC. I help women break free from survival mode, heal at the root, and rebuild their identity so they can lead with clarity, confidence, and alignment.
My work is not just something I studied—it’s something I’ve lived. And now, I use my story, my voice, and my experience to help other women break cycles and step into the life they were always meant to live.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all, but every challenge has shaped who I am today.
I was born and raised in Detroit, MI and later relocated to North Texas. Some of the hardest seasons I’ve walked through included navigating homelessness, becoming a teen mom, and overcoming domestic violence and narcissistic abuse. I’ve also had to process deep experiences of rejection and seasons of being estranged from family I once believed would support me, which added another layer to my journey.
Beyond the external challenges, one of the greatest struggles was internal—unlearning survival patterns, rebuilding my identity, and doing the deep work of healing after years of functioning while silently carrying pain.
There were moments where I had to make difficult decisions, walk away from what was familiar, and confront parts of myself that had been shaped by trauma. Healing wasn’t quick or easy but it required consistency, accountability, and a willingness to face truth, even when it was uncomfortable.
At the same time, those challenges built resilience, clarity, and a deeper understanding of the work I now do. They taught me how to lead from a place of wholeness rather than survival, and they continue to inform how I support the women I serve today.
What once tried to break me ultimately built me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
FlourishHER Enterprises LLC is a purpose-driven coaching and consulting brand centered on identity, healing, and leadership. At its core, the work I do is about helping women move out of survival mode and into a place of clarity, confidence, and aligned leadership.
I specialize in trauma-informed identity and leadership development, working with women who are high-functioning on the outside but internally navigating unresolved trauma, overthinking, burnout, and the weight of carrying too much. My approach focuses on helping them heal at the root, break cycles, and rebuild their identity so they can lead and live from a place of wholeness rather than survival.
Before launching my business, I spent over 14 years in the healthcare field, serving in both clinical and administrative roles and stepping into leadership positions. That experience gave me a deep understanding of people, systems, and the emotional and mental toll that high-responsibility environments can have especially for women who are used to showing up strong, even when they’re struggling internally. I now bring that same level of structure, insight, and leadership into the work I do with my clients.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just teach concepts—I’ve lived the transformation. I bring both lived experience and strategic insight into the spaces I create, which allows for a level of depth, honesty, and realignment that many women have never experienced before. I’m also known as The Identity Architect™, because I help women reconstruct their identity in a way that is intentional, aligned, and sustainable.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a space where women feel both seen and challenged… where healing is not just talked about, but actually facilitated. My work is rooted in authenticity, accountability, and transformation, and I’m committed to helping women break patterns, reclaim their voice, and step into the life and leadership they were always meant for.
In addition to the work I’ve built through FlourishHER Enterprises LLC, I offer private coaching and consulting experiences designed for women who are ready to move beyond survival mode and do the deeper work of healing and identity reconstruction. My services are rooted in helping women gain clarity, break patterns, and rebuild from a place of wholeness so they can lead and live with confidence and alignment.
I also provide speaking engagements, workshops, and collaborative opportunities for organizations and communities that want to have real conversations around healing, identity, and leadership.
Moreover, I am a co-author of the powerful anthology “Dear Little Girl In Me”, which ranked as a #1 New Release on Amazon— an accomplishment that reflects both the power of the message and the impact it continues to have on women navigating their own healing journeys.
In addition, I’ve created a private community called FlourishHER Tribe, a space for women who are committed to healing, growth, and becoming the version of themselves they know they are called to be. It’s a place where real conversations happen, where women feel seen and supported, and where transformation continues beyond individual sessions.
For those looking to connect or work with me, I invite them to visit my website and explore the ways we can work together.
This work isn’t about surface change, it’s about lasting transformation from the inside out.
I don’t just help women heal, I help them rebuild who they are from the inside out.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that you can’t truly transform your life until you’re willing to confront what you’ve been avoiding.
For a long time, I operated in survival mode; doing what needed to be done, showing up for others, and pushing through, without fully addressing the patterns, pain, and identity I had developed through my experiences. I had to learn that strength isn’t found in avoiding the work but it’s found in facing it.
Healing required honesty, accountability, and a willingness to let go of what was familiar, even when it felt uncomfortable. It also taught me that healing isn’t just about moving on—it’s about becoming someone new, with clarity, boundaries, and a renewed sense of identity.
That lesson now shapes everything I do. It’s the foundation of how I lead, how I serve, and how I help other women break cycles and rebuild their lives from the inside out.
You can’t heal what you’re unwilling to confront… but once you do, everything begins to change. Your past may have shaped you, but it was never meant to define you.
You have the power to rebuild, rise, and become who you were always created to be.
