Hi Charity, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For years, I always wanted to do something different, but I was so nervous to go out there and try. I knew nothing about running a business and some days I just felt that it wasn’t my calling. I struggled with a battle depression and self love for a long time. I always pointed out the imperfections of myself and I never thought I was good enough. Charity Co. Collection is based on my journey of my lowest moments and how I began to finally accept myself and all my flaws.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I first began the process of starting my own cosmetic line, I was scared. I did not know where to start and other days I felt like giving up was the only choice I had left. I would stay up until 5am sometimes even 7am for research. As time went by, I was able to get the products that I visioned and they came to life.
We’ve been impressed with Charity Co. Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Charity Co. Collection is a cosmetics brand that provides high quality products that is guaranteed to meet your standards. We offer lip glosses, lipsticks, lashes and more. The foundation of my business is not just about making money I want my customers to feel just as beautiful as I feel about myself. The world’s definition of beauty has standards, and sometimes we are unpleased with ourselves because of these standards. No matter what the world says you are beautiful inside and out and never forget that.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Having a mentor or someone to guide you and give you motivation is needed as an entrepreneur. Speaking for myself I have days where I feel discouraged but having the right people in your corner can lift your spirits. For me I always take people’s input or ideas into consideration, it will shape me better as a person as a whole not just an entrepreneur.
