Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea McGraw.
Chelsea, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been creative, but interior design became real for me when I realized how much the spaces we live in affect how we feel and function every day. I grew up around people who worked with their hands and took pride in doing things well, and that shaped how I approach my work.
I started Fount House after seeing a gap between beautiful design and a process that actually felt supportive for clients. People didn’t just want a pretty house, they wanted relief, clarity, and someone they could trust to guide decisions. I built the business around that idea
Today, Fount House is a full-service design studio based in Fort Worth, working on everything from new builds to renovations and furnishings. We focus on timeless, livable design and a clear, confident process that lets clients hand things over and actually enjoy the experience. It’s grown organically, but the heart of it has stayed the same: caring deeply about the people we serve and the homes they live their lives in.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a perfectly smooth road, but I think that’s true for most creative businesses. Early on, my strengths were vision, creativity, and relationships, and I had to learn that those don’t automatically come with systems, organization, or a business playbook. Those were growing pains for me.
What made the difference was recognizing that I didn’t have to do everything alone. Surrounding myself with the right people, team members, mentors, and peers who are strong where I’m not, has been huge. I’m also part of Entrepreneurs’ Organization, which has helped me think more clearly about leadership, structure, and long-term growth.
The challenges pushed me to build a stronger foundation, and now creativity and good business practices support each other instead of competing. That balance has been one of the most important lessons along the way.
We’ve been impressed with Fount House Interiors & Collection, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Fount House is a full-service interior design studio and showroom based in Fort Worth. We work on residential projects ranging from new builds and renovations to furnishings and finish selections, with a focus on timeless, livable design and a process that brings clarity instead of overwhelm.
What really sets us apart is that we’re not just a design firm, we’re also a resource. Our showroom was created to serve both clients and fellow designers. We represent thoughtfully curated textile and wallcovering lines and love being a place where other designers can source, collaborate, and feel supported. That community aspect matters deeply to me.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. Clients come to us not just for our aesthetic, but because they know we’ll lead the process, make confident decisions, and truly care about how their home supports their life. At the end of the day, Fount House is about good design, strong relationships, and making the experience feel steady, thoughtful, and enjoyable, for clients and designers alike.
