Today we’d like to introduce you to Christena Garduno.
Hi Christena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2019, while I was undergoing cancer treatment, I stepped into the role of CEO at a Dallas-based media agency. It was a pivotal year in every sense. Professionally, I was leading a team and navigating the fast-paced world of media. Personally, I was confronting the deepest health challenge of my life. That season changed me.
Cancer has a way of shifting your perspective. It forced me to slow down, to listen to my body, and to rethink what it means to truly feel well. I started exploring healing therapies that went beyond what conventional medicine offered. From hyperbaric oxygen therapy to lymphatic treatments, infrared saunas, and IV support, I became immersed in the world of integrative wellness. These were not just services, they were lifelines during recovery. That experience planted a seed.
While I had spent years building businesses and scaling marketing strategies, my vision began to evolve. It went beyond buying media or running companies. I wanted to create something that mattered deeply to people. I wanted to build a space that brought together cutting-edge healing technology, genuine recovery, and a sense of refined, elevated care. That vision became VIE.
VIE is a wellness sanctuary designed to support the full spectrum of healing—physical, emotional, and energetic. We bring in best-in-class devices from around the world, many of which are still unavailable anywhere else in Dallas. I believe wellness should feel exclusive, not clinical. Luxurious, not intimidating. At VIE, you walk into an experience where recovery and vitality go hand in hand.
More than anything, I wanted to create the kind of place I needed during my own healing journey. A place that treats you like a whole person, not a checklist of symptoms. A place where the details matter and the care is personal.
Now, we’re opening our doors in July, right here in the heart of Dallas. After years of vision and intention, I’m honored to share VIE with this city.
This isn’t just another business.
This is the most personal thing I’ve ever created.
This is VIE.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no. There are always challenges when it comes to opening a business, especially one that’s as personal as VIE. The biggest challenge has been making sure the vision stays crystal clear and comes to life exactly the way I’ve imagined it. I’m a perfectionist by nature. Whether that’s a strength or a flaw, I’m not sure, but I know that when something matters this much, I can’t settle for anything less than extraordinary.
Throughout this journey, I’ve changed my mind on certain elements, and I’ve had to give myself the freedom to evolve. I’m always researching, always searching for what’s next, and always looking for better ways to serve our clients. I know even after we open, there will be adjustments. That’s part of growth, and it’s something I actually welcome. My standards are high because I want Dallas to experience something unlike anything else—a place where innovation and care live side by side.
Despite the challenges, the process of building VIE has been deeply rewarding. I love creating. I enjoy the details, the decisions, the problem-solving, and the strategy that goes into bringing a vision to life. Watching it all come together, piece by piece, has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey so far.
Opening a business isn’t always smooth, but when it’s purpose-driven, it’s always worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
VIE is more than a wellness spa. It is a sanctuary for healing, recovery, and elevated living. Located in the heart of Dallas in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, VIE was created with the intention to bring together luxury, science-backed wellness, and global innovation in one thoughtfully designed space.
We specialize in advanced wellness technologies that support the body’s natural ability to heal and restore balance. Our services include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ozone therapy (HOCATT), red light therapy, cold plunge, lymphatic drainage using TSHAPE-2, Infrabaldan 3.0 metabolic reactivation, halotherapy, IV therapy, and our signature wellness shots. Many of the modalities we offer are exclusive or rarely available elsewhere in Dallas, which was intentional from the start. We wanted to create access to treatments that are not only effective but truly next-level in terms of client experience and results.
What sets VIE apart is our commitment to precision and personalization. Every client journey is guided with care, and our approach is rooted in both clinical knowledge and hospitality. From the moment someone walks through our doors, we want them to feel seen, supported, and elevated. The details matter—from the technology and protocols to the tone of the space and the warmth of the service.
What I am most proud of, brand-wise, is the intentionality behind everything we do. VIE is not about trends. It is about delivering real results in an environment that feels elegant, serene, and completely tailored to the individual. Whether someone is recovering from a health challenge, managing stress, or simply seeking longevity and performance, we meet them where they are and help them rise.
VIE is here to redefine what wellness can look and feel like in Dallas. We are proud to be part of the Oak Lawn community and excited to bring something truly distinctive to the city we love.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Be okay with failing and learning. That’s how I got to where I am today. And truthfully, I know I’m still going to make mistakes along the way. That’s part of the process, and it’s more than okay—it’s necessary.
When you’re building something from scratch, especially something you care deeply about, there’s a tendency to want everything to be perfect from the start. But perfection doesn’t build businesses. Progress does. Every misstep teaches you something valuable, and every challenge is an opportunity to get clearer, sharper, and stronger.
One thing I’ve learned is to trust your instincts, even when things get hard. Surround yourself with people who believe in the vision, but also be willing to take accountability when something doesn’t go as planned. Stay flexible. Stay curious. Stay committed.
I wish someone had told me early on that there’s no straight path to success. It’s a constant evolution. You have to give yourself the space to grow as a leader and to let your vision evolve with you. Some of the best decisions I’ve made came from moments that felt like failure at the time.
Starting a business is a mix of clarity, chaos, and courage. Don’t be afraid to learn as you go. Just keep going.
