Hi Damilola, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey as the founder of Refine Up was born from two core passions: career growth and intentional gatherings.
I’ve always been passionate about helping people grow in their careers, understanding where they are, where they’re headed, and how I might support them in taking the next step. Whether it was reviewing résumés, connecting someone to a mentor, or helping a friend figure out a career pivot, I naturally found myself playing that role.
At the same time, I’ve always had a strong eye for experiences. I loved helping create events that weren’t just beautiful, but meaningful. Whether it was for friends, family, or organizations I worked with, I cared deeply about how people felt, what they walked away with, and the atmosphere we created.
Eventually, I realized I didn’t have to choose between these two worlds, I could merge them.
Refine Up is a platform that curates high-impact, purpose-driven experiences for women who are seeking more, more clarity, more alignment, more growth. Whether they’re navigating a career change, moving up the corporate ladder, launching a new venture, or simply refining the direction they’re already on, Refine Up is designed to meet them where they are and help them rise. It’s a space for real conversations, practical insights, and intentional connections, because I believe growth happens best when women feel seen, equipped, and inspired.
While our focus is on women, I also work with mission-aligned companies and organizations to design transformative experiences for broader audiences. One example is the Boardroom to Startup Summit, which I produced for seasoned professionals ready to launch and scale their own ventures. The goal was to spark meaningful dialogue, connection, and strategy in a space that felt elevated, relevant, and real.
The name Refine Up reflects a core belief: that growth isn’t always about starting over, it’s about sharpening what’s already there.
This is just the beginning. As Refine Up continues to grow, so does the vision, to keep building spaces that equip women to step boldly into whatever is next.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all, but it’s been a refining one.
There have been seasons of transition, moments of doubt, and times where the path forward wasn’t always clear. Like many who are building something from scratch, I’ve had to navigate setbacks, reframe my vision, and find the courage to keep going even when things didn’t unfold as planned.
But I truly believe those moments, the ones that feel the most uncertain, are often the ones that shape us the most. Each challenge has helped me get clearer on the “why” behind Refine Up. It’s made me more intentional, more focused, and more committed to creating spaces that really matter.
So while the road hasn’t always been smooth, it’s been worth it. Every twist and turn has contributed to the clarity and conviction I walk with today.

As Refine Up continues to grow, I’m looking forward to deepening our impact and exploring new ways to serve. There are some exciting collaborations and experiences in the works, all aligned with our mission of helping women grow, connect, and move with intention.
