Exploring Life & Business with Diona Hamilton of Notary Inspect Mobile Notary Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diona Hamilton.

Hi Diona, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story starts off as a little girl who was born and raised in a little town called New Iberia, Louisiana who always dreamed of traveling the world and living in a big city. Life was hard in the beginning, but I used my experiences to help make me a stronger person. After graduating high school, I attended and graduated from LSU Eunice with a dream of becoming a Therapeutic Recreational Therapist because I enjoyed helping people. That’s when I was offered a sales opportunity at a financial institution where I helped people live in a home that they loved. I quickly began to thrive and was very successful, receiving many accolades and helping hundreds of people along the way. But, about 13 years into my career, I began to notice that the company I worked for was not doing very well and was on the verge of closure. This of course left me very uneasy, unsure of the future and downright scared because that job was all that I had known. The company did indeed eventually close and left me unemployed. I was frightened, unsettled, depressed and even mocked for staying at a company for so long. But I knew that I had to put my big girl pants on and figure out a plan, because no one was going to save me. So, I sat down created a plan and tried to figure out what could I do that would allow me to utilize my current skills, acquire new skills and still continue to help individuals in my community. That’s when I came up with my company, Notary Inspect Mobile Notary Services. I spent many sleepless nights creating and formulating my brand. Many nights I was up studying until 3am/4am gaining credentials and certifications to go along with my degree. I also knew that I wanted something that was my own and that would help prevent me from experiencing the roller coaster of emotions that I felt after being let go from a company that I had given so much of my time, effort and energy to.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, the road has not been very smooth at all. There have been times when I doubted myself. wondering if I’m doing things right. I constantly questioned myself. I questioned my knowledge, my skillset, even my worth. I was also trying to build a business, build a brand, buy supplies, marketing materials with no income due to my recent layoff that did not include severance pay. Even some relationships/friendships became strained due to all of the uncertainty of the future.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is a mobile notary loan signing business, which means I come to you. I know firsthand what it’s like having to get services done for example getting something notarized, fingerprints acquired, signing of mortgage documentation etc. and not being able to get these things done. Mainly because of my schedule not allowing me to be available during the normal business hours that other businesses that offered these services would operate. So, I try to make these offerings available to clients who may need them outside of the normal 9-5 business hours. I mostly specialize in mortgage loan signings, mortgage origination and mortgage inspections. What sets me apart is that I’m a Certified Notary Loan Signing Agent and Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator. So, I can help clients at the beginning or the end of their mortgage transactions. I offer mortgage origination services, mortgage loan signing services, I-9 services, general notary work and also mortgage inspection services. So, I even help clients protect their investments. What I’m most proud brand wise is that my brand/business was created and has grown out of hardship like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Yet, customer service and serving my community was always at the forefront of the creation of my business model. I want readers to know that I come to you to make the process easier when normal 9-5 business hours are not realistic for their needs.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that most people who know my work might not know about me is that I’m a thrill seeker and love to travel. I love traveling and immersing myself in different cultures and cuisines. I enjoy cruising, hiking, ziplining, ATVing, jetsking and skydiving.
