Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Fisher.
Hi Donna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My mother was the person behind the passion and instilled an ethic of hard work. She was always active and encouraged movement growing up. I found my niche at a young age through sports, feeling alive when my body would move, jump, run, cycle, swim, hike, and anything else I could find to compete in. During this time, I was drawn to the world of health and wellness and helping others find that fire with movement, purpose, and consistency,
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No roads are totally smooth! I was the first one in my family to attend college, so that was a huge struggle financially, mentally, and emotionally not knowing or understanding any of the process to achieve a higher education. Paving a new path can also be very lonely at times but ever so rewarding if you can stay the course and find a tribe to ride the journey with you!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My brand is FBH (For Better Health); it is a one-stop wellness shop that specializes in Pilates alongside co-treating clients with Chiropractic, Yoga, Muscle Activation Techniques, and TVT Vibration to treat the whole person and improve quality of life.
We have a unique niche in that we are a private facility that does not offer classes to the public; this allows us to monitor our clients’ needs and adjust to schedules and changes. Combined, we have over 150 years of experience, and our mean average time of training a client is 10+ years, enjoying all the stages of life alongside our clients.
In September 2024, we will be doubling our space to allow for small groups, Co-Op, Ozone Therapy, Acupuncture, and more. This will be an exciting addition to our current concierge clients, and we can serve a new market.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Patience, Patience, Patience… It is very challenging in the beginning to continue making mistakes and to feel as you are constantly failing. Celebrating small wins on a regular basis, allowing for mistakes and change, learn to things go!!! Pausing is ok; patience yields productivity.
