Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Berry.

Hi Ebony , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Ebony Berry – Founder of Come Tea Us
“Choosing Me, One Cup at a Time”

If someone told me a few years ago I’d be hosting tea parties for a living, I might’ve smiled, sipped my butterfly pea tea, and asked them how strong their brew was. But life has a funny way of steeping us in exactly what we need.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial soul. I ran lemonade stands with CEO-level enthusiasm as a kid. In elementary school, I even struck a deal to model in a store window—my payment? A cool 50% off my fall school wardrobe (fashion and finance goals met). By high school, I was playing benefit violin concerts to fund my three-week Student Ambassador trip through People-to-People. I’ve never waited around for a door to open—I usually built my own or found a creative way to slide in through the side.

Fast forward to my corporate life—I spent 18 years in the thick of it, working with some of the biggest names in the Fortune 500, 100, and even 50. Most recently, I led the wellness operations and programming strategy for a company supporting 139,000 employees. It was a “you made it” moment, and for a while, I believed I had.

Then, one day—poof—my role and entire department were eliminated. Cue the silent hum of a laptop and the rush of online job applications. At first, I did what most of us do—I dusted off Plan A, B, and even C. But rejection and ghosting became a recurring theme (shoutout to all the recruiters who left me on “read”).

Somewhere in the thick of that disappointment, something shifted. With the support of friends, my executive coach, and a major spiritual awakening, I realized I hadn’t really chosen me in a long time. I’d been climbing ladders and checking boxes. It was time to ask: What do I love?

Tea. Tea was always there. Christmas brunches, elegant tea parties around Dallas, and trips to tea houses in England, Scotland, Wales—even the stunning Butchart Gardens in Canada. Tea wasn’t just a drink; it was an experience. A moment to pause. To breathe. To connect.

So, I called my friend Stacey and pitched the wild idea of starting a business centered around tea and community. She didn’t just say yes—she wailed it (the kind of yes you feel in your soul). Stacey became our Creative and Marketing Director, the brilliance behind all our visual magic. We recently added a Chief Sales Officer to the team and officially launched our first Come Tea Us pop-up at Pegasus City Brewery this past March!

Since then, it’s been a beautiful blur—pop-up events, vendor booths (including at the iconic Dallas Farmers Market), corporate and nonprofit tea-themed events, breakfasts, brunches, baby and bridal showers, and three community events that filled our hearts and calendars. We even secured our first collaboration with a nonprofit and a 3D mobile prop artist company—talk about unexpected blessings.

At Come Tea Us, we’re more than just a cup of tea—we’re a movement. A safe space to gather, celebrate, reflect, and sip slowly in a world that moves too fast. We are so humbled and grateful for the warm embrace Dallas has shown us, and we’re just getting started.

So, whether you’re a tea novice or a connoisseur, we invite you to Come Tea Us. We’ll bring the cups—you bring your beautiful self.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

“Brewing a Dream, One Bumpy Sip at a Time”

Has it been a smooth road? Whew—do tea kettles whistle? Absolutely not.

Building a brand with a small team—or let’s be honest, a mighty full-time band of one—comes with its fair share of plot twists, growing pains, and Google searches at odd hours of the night. I still remember the day I stood in our commissary kitchen, exhausted and overwhelmed, and typed into my phone: “How to start a commercial dishwasher.” I have degrees, certifications, and years of experience in corporate… but at that moment, I was just a woman with sudsy hands and zero clue.

Running a small business—especially in food and beverage—is like juggling flaming teacups while walking a tightrope… blindfolded. There are operations, purchasing, administrative work, event planning, marketing, forecasting, staying compliant (read: a ridiculous number of certifications), and then somehow remembering to eat lunch.

And let’s not even begin to discuss the emotional side of entrepreneurship. One week, you’re booked solid, feeling unstoppable. Next, sales are slow, and you’re having deep internal conversations about whether to pivot, pause, or pray (usually all three). I’ve had to learn to fail forward—not back to the starting line, but only to the point where the error occurred. That mindset alone has saved me time, money, and a lot of unnecessary tears.

What’s kept me going is the “why” behind Come Tea Us—creating space for connection, comfort, and celebration, and remembering that I’m not alone. I’ve leaned into my network, picked up the phone when I didn’t know the answer, and reached out to other founders who’ve walked this path before me. There’s something powerful about saying, “Hey, I’m figuring this out—can I pick your brain over a cup of something warm?”

No, it’s not smooth. But it’s real. And real, with all its hiccups and hard-won lessons, makes the journey—and the tea—all the more meaningful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

“Sip. Savor. Socialize—with Soul.”

At Come Tea Us, we’re not just pouring tea—we’re pouring intention, joy, and a whole lot of heart into every experience we create.

We are a Dallas-based mobile tea events company rooted in three things: connection, creativity, and community. Our brand mantra is simple but powerful: Sip. Savor. Socialize. Whether you’re celebrating love, launching a product, or hosting your team for a much-needed wellness reset, we create curated tea-themed experiences that help people slow down and truly connect.

We specialize in transforming any moment—corporate mixers, client appreciation events, bridal showers, baby blessings, birthdays, brunches, and everything in between—into something magical. Think English garden meets modern-day mood board. From our DIY floral bar at the Dallas Farmers Night Market to immersive themes like “Down the Rabbit Hole,” we bring creativity to the kettle every single time.

What sets us apart? We don’t just host events. We create experiences. Events that are sensory-rich, story-driven, and steeped in imagination (yes, pun fully intended). From the tea blend to the table setting, every detail is intentional. And with Stacey Taylor, our brilliant Creative and Marketing Director, at the helm of design, each event feels like a curated piece of art you can drink in—literally.

We’re also proud to be a brand that leads with community. We host quarterly giveback events, collaborate with local artists and nonprofits, and use our platform to uplift others. One of our proudest moments so far? Partnering with an Oak Cliff nonprofit organization and a 3D prop artist to host a whimsical, Alice in Wonderland-style tea party fundraiser—and raising funds for Kerr County flood relief from our booth at the Dallas Farmers Market.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that people feel something when they experience Come Tea Us. Whether it’s nostalgia, joy, or just the rare pleasure of being fully present—that’s the magic we’re after.

So, whether you’re planning your next celebration, looking to spark team morale, or just want an excuse to sip something beautiful—Come Tea Us. We’re ready to bring the party, the petals, and of course, the perfectly brewed cup.

What matters most to you? Why?

“Poured with Purpose: What Matters Most”

What matters most to me is simple—but powerful: friends, family, and community rooted in kindness, gratitude, and joy. I believe in creating spaces—both in life and business—where people feel truly seen, welcomed, and celebrated just as they are. Spaces where laughter flows, stories are shared, and love is poured as generously as the tea.

To me, community isn’t just a word—it’s a way of being. It’s how we heal, how we grow, and how we remember that we’re not alone. It matters deeply to me that Come Tea Us creates moments where people can connect without pretense, where we can show up as our full, unicorn-sparkly selves and feel safe doing so.

And honestly? I believe you can change the world with a cup of tea. Because it’s never just about the tea—it’s about what happens around it. The conversations. The eye contact. The shared silence. The celebration of culture, flavor, and humanity. I want to make connections contagious. I want to make kindness a lifestyle, not just a trend. I want to remind people that joy doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions—it can be a part of everyday life.

We’re all walking to our own rhythm, and that’s the beauty of it. My hope is that Come Tea Us helps people slow down, tune into that beat, and dance through life with more grace, gratitude, and a delicious cup of Earl Grey.
