Exploring Life & Business with Elisa Pena of Hayven Graze Charcuterie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisa Pena

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My culinary background began as early as being a child in the kitchen with my parents. I still remember some of the techniques my dad taught me at a very young age, the most simple things like cutting a watermelon! I began working for the Lancarte family, owners of Joe T. Garcia’s and Esperanza’s whenever I was in high school. So the food industry and customer service is all I have ever known. I learned so much and fell in love with serving families! My last couple of years in the service industry I did a lot of catering events and private parties, I found a true passion for this aspect of the industry. I didn’t ever dream of turning that passion into a business of my very own. During 2020 I dappled with the idea, crazy time to dream of serving guest huh! A couple years later I made my dream a reality and took a leap of faith on myself and started Hayven Graze. Since then we have built a very special clientele and made this business what it is today!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As most small businesses, they are hard to start. It’s very scary in the beginning and hard to keep clear tunnel vision of your goals. Sometimes you don’t even know what your goals are until you have set backs. After the business took off and became steady, the biggest set back was learning to accept that some of the time things are going to be slower than others and I’ve learned to not panic and be okay with that! There’s seasons to this just like everything else.

As you know, we’re big fans of Hayven Graze Charcuterie . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a small catering business located in Fort Worth, TX. We specialize in charcuterie boards, grazing tables and other types of appetizers. We have a wide variety of board sizes, we can serve anywhere from a small for 2 or a MEGA for 50.
