Today we’d like to introduce you to Elwanda Allen.
Hi Elwanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story stems from a point when I was 26 years old. Realizing that I was not where I desired to be in my life. I often sat elucidating at the fact that I wasn’t educated in regards to finances and credit. I made poor financial decisions at moments when I knew I was wrong. Trying to hold on to a dollar and neglecting bills. I knew that I wanted to be an educator, a coach. I wanted to be a vessel of God to educate others and pass the ladder down to the next person for success but it had to start with me. I always wanted to be in real estate. I always saw myself in the financial industry owning multiple office locations in different cities and states. My vision was always be a one-stop-shop for people to be serviced and educated. I then turned to God and removed myself from it all while He worked on me and through me. Here I am 6 years later: a realtor, accountant, notary, life and financial coach, and the owner of multiple tax preparation locations that also specializes in helping others to become financially stable and literate as well as spiritually fed at the same time. I believe I cannot teach what I was not taught and I was born to be used so I became educated and fearless towards my vision and all of my goals. Now I’m here in the very moment and time where God wants me to be! Successful and still climbing as well as passing the ladder down to the next!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I felt stuck and stagnated. There were times I could not catch a grip on life because of poor decisions and emotional judgment. There were times I felt as though I was an outcast. I struggled with finances and there is no shame in my story because it is a testimony that anyone can overcome. I remember not being able to get anything in my name. There was a time when I valued people’s opinions and it would take me to a dark place of giving up; just continuing day by day as if I did not k ow my purpose.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Era Consulting & Financial Services specializes in helping others build personal credit and good financial habits. We also specialize in helping business owners by providing business coaching which includes getting properly structured and building business credit as well as notary services. Era Tax Solutions specializes in both personal and business tax preparation as well as accounting. Era Realty Group specializes in real estate. Helping both buyers and sellers to achieve their real estate needs. What’s setting me apart from the rest is God. The ability to be able to minister and educate at the same time. You get direct access to myself because I love all of my clients to be comfortable to know who’s working for them and with them. I’m proud of how far I’ve come in such a short period of time. The drive and passion I have to keep pressing forward for what God has called me to do.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I’ve learned to always have multiple streams of income. I’ve learned to importance to always stay educated and focused because life will eat you apart if you allow it to but also how to persevere in the midst of a pandemic
