

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Hanrahan
Hi Erin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started baking at a young age and never looked back. I enjoyed looking for ways to create new recipes or experiment with new techniques for my family to try whenever I could. I always dreamed I would make this skill my career. After I graduated college, I continued working at a dance studio but started baking on the side to sell to friends and family. I gradually started selling at different vendor fairs and local events. This pushed me to pursue this dream fully. I quit my job and began baking full time in January of this year. Now, I attend multiple vendor fairs around the DFW area and am looking forward to offering my baked goods in a storefront soon!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any new venture, it isn’t all smooth sailing. It’s taken a lot of hard work, early mornings, and arm strength (quite literally when rolling out dough) but I am lucky to have a family that is supportive and encouraging for those days that can be overwhelming.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Bakes & Boules?
Bakes & Boules is a micro bakery that specializes in sourdough baked goods. All of our breads are made with organic flour and sourdough which in my book makes them healthy! We offer many flavor varieties of bread including jalapeño cheddar and our new flavor, garlic herb. Our cinnamon rolls are a big hit with everyone and a family favorite. All of our sales are done through our website and then the customers will pick up at a specified location. We are excited to offer our items at a storefront in the near future!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I honestly don’t think of good or bad luck playing a part. With a dream that God has put in my heart, I have poured many hours of research, practice, some good bakes, others not so good and just hard work and determination to get to this point. It is often a challenge but I am enjoying the process. Mistakes are just steps to growth and it is so rewarding to see people respond warmly to something I have made.
