Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Gonzales.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am born and raised in Princeton, Texas and from a young age I knew I wanted to be an attorney. I always found it interesting to be able to advocate and make an argument to help someone or persuade someone to my way of thinking. Being an attorney is the only thing I ever wanted to do and I shaped my education to match that goal. I eventually went on to Texas Tech University where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in English and from there I went to Texas Tech University School of Law. I began working at a small firm in Denton practicing criminal defense and family law, anything from a DWI or first degree felony to CPS defense or custody issues. During COVID I was able to create my own firm The Law Office of Jamie E Gonzales, PLLC where I am able to help people from all walks of life. I want to help people in their most trying times and assist them to a positive outcome in their darkest days.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Things have not always been smooth for sure. Opening a business during COVID was always going to be an undertaking but I tried to remain positive. I found if I kept doing good work for people that is all that mattered. When you work hard and get people what the need, I’ve found the rest tends to figure itself out.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Law Office of Jamie E Gonzales, PLLC is a law firm that handles criminal defense and family law cases in North Texas. We defend people against misdemeanors such as DWIs as well as more severe charges including first degree felonies. For family law cases we handle divorces, custody disputes, and CPS defense. We approach every case with compassion and a personal touch. One of the first questions I ask all my clients is, “how does this end in a way you want?” because at the end of the day, that’s what matters most. We strive to make our goal the client and what they desire, a good outcome for me is when my client is happy with the result. While we understand the path and journey may be difficult, the outcome should be satisfactory. I really think that is what sets the Law Office apart from others, the care and compassion we provide.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Growing up my father ran a construction business and there were times I would accompany him on work business. I remember seeing him interact with his crew and the home owners and I would witness all the hard work and logistics that went into being “the boss”. I remember seeing that and thinking how hard that must be but I also think that influenced me so much into what I do now. I learned at a young age that running a business means you are never really off, there’s never downtime, because at the end of the day you are in charge. There’s an obligation to others beyond your typical job and so when I get tired or exhausted I think of my dad and how he prepared and made sure everything worked and then I get back at it.
