Hi, my name is Jay! New Orleans Native moved to Dallas in 2010. Started cutting hair during my 11th grade in High school. Being a barber was the best career choice I’ve made and reason being I’m in total control of my work schedule and that allows me to spend time with my family more which I love! I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The most challenging thing I’ve had to experience was losing my little brother to cancer this year in Jan just 2 weeks after I open my barbershop! I’ve never had to pull myself together in such a manner to where I was still able to provide great quality while suffering internal. Losing my little brother, the same time my career is at its peak was the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to face!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I don’t have a specific favorite memory as a child. Just being free from the evils of the world was the best feeling ever. As you grow, you tend to cherish those moments a lot more, so I’m grateful to not have had to worry as a child
