Exploring Life & Business with Jay Jackson of Immediate Solar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Jackson.

Hi Jay, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Let’s try to keep this short, brief, and powerful. My name is Jay Jackson; I was born and raised in North Dallas. Oldest of 13 younger siblings. Just like most people’s life was tough growing up, but I live in America, so it wasn’t that tough. However, my family wasn’t the poorest family and we were not rich at all. We grew up eating syrup sandwiches, dancing with roaches in the kitchen, and playing basketball with a grocery basket. I’m not too into astrology, but I am a Leo. And funny enough my traits line up exactly with it. With that being said, I’ve always been a Leader, visionary, and successful. Fortunately, I figured out my calling at a very young age. After going through a lot of trauma throughout life I discovered my purpose for my calling which was to save my family, friends, and to change the world. My dream is impact. To serve and uplift. One thing I’ve always stressed is the importance of loving people. Love in Greek can be defined as Charity. Which is to serve or give to others. In which, I believe, if I drive that message. One person at a time, we will make the world a better place. As far as my education, I studied Psychology at Arizona State University, and I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. Also serve as Motivational speaker, writer, and entrepreneur. Right now, I am business owner of a company called Immediate Solar; we are an Energy company located in Richardson, Tx. We have about 50 employees, sales reps, and installers. We are completely minority owned! I also do business-to-business sales and real estate investing. Overall, my goal is to inspire. Two of my favorites sayings are “Never give up” and “Anything is possible”. Because if you make a decision to never give up, anything is possible!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is rough. And I can definitely say I’ve been through a lot of trauma in my life. Some of it self-inflicted from my own mistakes and some from the result of being hurt by others. The problem is that hurt people hurt people. Along with that, as human beings, we have this expectation to “keep up with joneses,” in which makes you discontented with the current status of your life based on other people experiences that you may see on social media. But trauma truly cultivated me. It made my skin thicker but my heart softer. Because now, I can relate with the rest of world and the pain that other individuals have experienced. With that being said, I don’t expect things to get easier. I know it will only get more difficult. But I’m grateful that a byproduct of going to trials and tribulations, thus, being stretch mentally and emotionally. As a result of pain, I’ve experience in my life; this will increase my bandwidth. Which will prepare me for the things that are in store for me.

We’ve been impressed with Immediate Solar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Immediate Solar is an energy company founded by Jay Jackson and Dray Thomas in March 2022. We are fully black-owned and function as full in-house solar company. Meaning that, from the sale to install, everything is done by Immediate Solar. Right now, we have about four installation crews doing about 40 to 60 solar, Battery, generator, and EV charger installs per month. We install for Residential and Commercial clients. Our specialty is quality and speed with our installs. Because the two owners have a personal install background of 5 years installing solar on homeowners’ roofs. Our brand is core values are all about opportunity. Opportunity for our customers, employees, partners, and for two young black entrepreneurs who came from nothing but had a dream. A dream to build something bigger than ourselves, to have a generational impact for our friends and family!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The number one problem in the world is energy. We are consuming more energy than what we are producing. So, our goal at Immediate Solar is to be a solution to the number one problem in the world. We are going to be in the energy industry for the long run. Our next goal is to focus on commercial solar farms to help stabilize the grid here in Texas. Also, we are opening another office in Oklahoma in about 3 months. After that, we are going to focus on the market in Colorado, Nevada, Kansas City, Arkansas, Louisiana until we have a branch in every state in the U.S. As far as my personal goals in the next 5 – 10 years. I will focus more on my purpose of being a service to mankind. I’m currently writing two books on Human Behavior. And also working on my Child development organization which will be a non-profit focusing on helping young man and woman who have a disadvantage life get the training, teaching, and guidance in their lives to have the best opportunity to succeed in our society.
