Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazaab Hamid.
Jazaab, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in a small town 20 miles from downtown Sacramento California. I would watch my father wake up every day at 3:30 AM to get to work at 5 and not return until 4 PM. Watching this as a young child installed the same work ethic inside of me. I pushed myself to graduate from Sacramento State University a semester early so I could return the favor for my parents. In February of 2020, a month before covid, my father lost his small business of 20 years. Which meant it was my turn to take care of everyone. At age 24, with the help of my parents, I was able to migrate to Dallas Texas in order to fulfill my dream of owning my own small business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Any destination worth visiting will have some challenges. My grandma, who raised me throughout my adolescence and received a cancer diagnosis while I was in school, passed away. Before it was time for her to pass away, she battled that battle for five months. I was inspired to work harder and show everyone that if she could endure multiple rounds of chemotherapy without complaining despite the discomfort, then I could handle everything life threw at me. A few years later and one month before COVID, everyone’s lives were affected. Due to issues with other partners, my father was forced to sell the small business he had operated for 19 years. We were ultimately left with nothing after years of legal battles and expensive legal bills. This made me mature much more quickly and assume responsibility for my family’s finances.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At my company, we make an effort to differentiate ourselves from our contemporaries and rivals. We work hard to create a fun cafe where people of all ages may gather to socialize and enjoy delicious food and beverages. The customer service and cleanliness are two things that set us apart from the competition. We work hard to serve everyone who enters our doors like family and make sure they are satisfied with their experience. We also put a lot of effort into maintaining cleanliness. To serve our customers, we continuously clean and sanitize all of our equipment and every area of our store throughout the day to ensure quality you can trust.
