Hi Jessy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey with saree draping started as a hobby. At a young age, I enjoyed styling my mom, which sparked my love for the art of draping. Over time, I began draping sarees for college events and for friends at various functions.
In 2017, I moved from India to the US, and that opened up even more opportunities to drape sarees for others.
In 2021, my cousin got married, and I had the chance to drape all 6 of her bridesmaids along with the beautiful bride herself.Astonished by the results,everyone encouraged me to take this passion more seriously and make it a profession
With support from my family and friends I created social media pages to showcase my work and let people know about my services. That was the turning point, and I haven’t looked back since.
What began as a fun hobby has now evolved into a professional journey, and I’m thrilled to help others look their best while also keeping this beautiful tradition alive.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In the beginning, balancing my responsibilities as a mother,wife along with a full-time job made it challenging to pursue saree draping with the dedication I wanted.
Another major struggle was navigating social media. While I knew there were people out there who needed help with saree draping, getting my services noticed wasn’t easy. Building a presence on platforms like Instagram and Facebook took time, especially when trying to stand out in a sea of content. I had to learn how to showcase my skills, engage with the right audience, and build a following from scratch. Reaching the right people who truly needed assistance with draping or were planning big events like weddings took patience and consistent effort.
Despite these challenges, every step has taught me something new, and it’s been worth it to see the growth and the connections I’ve made through my work.

At JSD’s, I offer a comprehensive saree draping service designed to make my clients look and feel their best on their special day. I specialize in creating elegant, customized drapes for brides, bridesmaids, and anyone attending weddings, parties, or cultural events. What truly sets me apart is my dedication to making the saree draping process as easy and seamless as possible.
In addition to draping, I provide steaming and ironing services for sarees and dupattas. This ensures the fabric is wrinkle-free and ready for a perfect drape. I usually request sarees or dupattas in advance so that I can take my time to iron and pre-pleat them with attention to detail. By preparing the saree beforehand, I can focus on achieving a flawless drape while saving time.
To add to the convenience, I travel to the client’s venue, whether it’s for an early morning or late-night wedding. I am flexible with timing and committed to providing a stress-free experience for my clients, ensuring they look stunning and feel comfortable.
If I am unavailable for in-person draping, I also offer a pre-pleat and box folding service along with a demo for sarees and dupattas.
This ensures that my clients can easily drape them on their own.
I also provide alteration services, which are incredibly helpful for last-minute outfit fixes, giving clients peace of mind with their attire.

What matters most to me is ensuring that my clients feel confident, beautiful, and stress-free on their special day. Saree draping is more than just a service; it’s an art form that can transform how someone feels in their attire. I know how much effort goes into preparing for big events, especially weddings, so making sure my clients are comfortable,confident and look their best is my top priority.
Why? Because I believe in the power of self-expression through clothing, and the saree is such a rich, versatile garment. It carries tradition, beauty, and grace. When someone wears it with confidence, it elevates not just their look but also their experience of the event. Knowing I’ve contributed to that moment for my clients is incredibly rewarding.
