Hi Joanne, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It all started back in 2019. I was suffering from severe back pain due to a disc issue and was desperately looking to buy a high-quality massage chair. To my frustration, I couldn’t find a single showroom in the DFW area that carried multiple reliable, global brands under one roof where I could just try them out. That was my “lightbulb” moment. I decided to take matters into my own hands and open a store myself—a pressure-free space where people could personally experience the world’s best massage chairs.
Shortly after we opened our doors, COVID-19 hit and the world shut down. I honestly thought we were doomed. Out of necessity, we pivoted to an appointment-only model to keep people safe. Surprisingly, the exact opposite of my fears happened. With everyone stuck at home and stressed, people started flooding in. It turned out to be our best year, proving just how much people needed physical relief and comfort during a crisis.
About three years into the business, we noticed a distinct pattern: almost every customer coming in with back, neck, and shoulder issues was also searching for a truly supportive mattress. Recognizing that need, we opened a second store specializing exclusively in top-tier, luxury mattress brands like Vispring, Aireloom, Tempur-Pedic, and Stearns & Foster.
Today, we have beautifully consolidated both concepts into a single showroom, creating a true one-stop wellness shop. DFW residents can now come in and test the absolute best in both massage chairs and premium mattresses in a relaxed, hands-on environment.
As a small, family-owned business, our philosophy is entirely rooted in helping people rather than forcing a sale. The atmosphere in our showroom is the polar opposite of a crowded, high-pressure big-box store. From the initial comfort consultation to the final delivery and long-term aftercare, we handle almost everything ourselves to ensure absolute perfection. We take immense pride in our work, and to this day—even after hundreds of customer write-ups—we have maintained a flawless 5-star review rating on Google.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The beginning was anything but smooth. It was my very first time opening a massage chair business, and because it was such a niche concept back then, there was no blueprint or established system for me to follow. I was learning everything on the fly.
To make matters worse, just a few months after our grand opening, COVID-19 hit and the mall completely shut down. Suddenly, we couldn’t operate normally. We were forced to pivot entirely to an appointment-only model, which felt terrifying at the time. Yet, surprisingly, the exact opposite of what we feared happened: because people felt safer in a private, controlled environment, our schedule started filling up, and more customers than ever began coming through the doors.
To keep up with the unexpected demand, we had to out-hustle the circumstances. Day or night, weekdays or holidays—if a customer wanted to come in, we opened the doors for them. And when it came to fulfillment, we didn’t have a team; we did it all ourselves.
In the beginning, we didn’t even own a proper delivery trailer. It was just my dad and me, manually lifting 300-pound massage chairs onto the back of my pickup truck and delivering them directly to our customers’ homes. It was exhausting, but that hands-on dedication is exactly what built the foundation of who we are today.
