Hi Kimaya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a passionate artist, software engineer, art educator, and women entrepreneur.
Originally from India, currently Frisco is my new home.
Like every other person, I followed conventional career path of education. After completing my engineering, I started working as software engineer in private company. But some where I was missing my drawings, colors. From my childhood, I was fond of colors, patterns and drawing. In my school days I used to participate in many art competitions. I use to explore different art mediums. Fast forward, I moved to USA and life shifted. In pandemic I got opportunity to connect to art again. I started painting again. One day, one of my friends saw my paintings hanging on my wall and insisted me to teach her daughter. I was good with fluid art, abstract art, and acrylic painting. That’s led me to start teaching kids the basics of art. Slowly, with word of mouth, many parents started enquiry about art classes, they started showing interest in learning art. That’s how Kims Art Studio was born, right from my small apartment.
With the studio, my mission is art is for everyone. In today’s digital era, art is like therapy about finding yourself, building confidence, and experience creativity.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all-it’s been a road of plenty of bumps, full of different turns, unexpected stops . Starting something from zero with no knowledge was overwhelming. There were moments of self-doubt, confusion, moments of giving up. Sometimes, balancing motherhood, managing family responsibilities, and showing up everyday was not at all easy. Setbacks are part of the process, the growth often occurs in adversity.
In this journey, every challenge, every feedback provided me clarity, keep learning, and resilience of why I started this journey.
Looking back, I believe just by showing up consistently for your passion will make everything meaningful.

Kims Art Studio is based in Frisco, Texas where I teach art to all ages and skill levels. We focus on providing strong foundation in art just like learning any new subject. That’s why we start with pencil drawing, perspective, color theory while working across different mediums. In every month, we have fun activity on one of day where we introduced kids to new medium or do craft that’s where they get freedom to explore. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch them flourish as they to harness both technique and their creativity, ultimately finding their own unique voice.
Also, we encourage our students to participate in different art contests.
