Hi LaToya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I have always loved fashion! I enjoy fashionable clothing, jewelry, shoes, etc! I would spend time and money putting different styles together! It definitely became a passion of mine. Not too long ago, God positioned my husband and I to be able to open an apparel store named Fashionz Trendz. This store not only houses my own Boutique, which is “Beautiful Bold Woman Boutique.” also several other business owners are partnered with us, and this has also allowed their business to be featured and allows them the opportunity to share their passion with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! To be honest, we had to figure a lot of things out as we went. Things like inventory, finding quality clothing vendors, choosing the right accounting system, and so much more, but we kept pushing! Some of the struggles were finding the right building with adequate space that wasn’t too expensive for our budget, being a new business! I definitely had to fight self-doubt and constantly reminding myself if God opened the door and made the vision come alive, he will make provision!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize in quality, fashionable plus-size clothing. What sets us apart is the fact that it’s not easy finding fashionable plus size clothing. So Beautiful Bold Woman Boutique BBW gives plus-size women the freedom to shop with style and comfort in mind. We also do our best to sell reasonably priced clothing & jewelry without breaking the bank. We also carry sizes small-Large! I’m most proud of being able to meet the need of plus-size women concerning their apparel!
What makes you happy?
It makes me happy that by opening a store we’ve been able to offer other entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their gifts, talents, and business! Also, when I see others purchase and wear my hand-selected apparel or jewelry is amazing. To see the confidence in women rise simply from putting on something that makes them feel beautiful! It gives me joy because the love and passion I have for Fashion is shared with others!
