Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Purdy.

Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I actually started with a pretty prominent apartment locating company when they were just teeeeny tiny! I was agent number 8 when I started and when I walked away five years later, we had opened two new branches and added 100+ new employees and contractors. I was afforded some really great managerial experience and an opportunity to move to Austin to take over running the original branch. After about a year, I had a very close family member fall ill and it was my eye-opening moment that it was time to get back to what was most important to me, my family.

I coached youth volleyball while I was in college and became acquainted with a mother of a player that ran a real estate business out of Amarillo, TX. For years she’d periodically check in with me and ask if I wanted to open a Dallas branch and for years, I said no. The timing just so happened to line up at the end of 2019 for me to make the jump to residential. I, like many others, could not have foreseen what 2020 would bring. I was terrified, I only sold 12 houses and thought many times that I had made a mistake of walking away from a great company.

It wasn’t until January of 2021 that things really picked up for me and to date, I have been a part of over 15 transactions. Last year was scary for sure but looking back, the stress was absolutely worth sticking it out. Every day I look up and I have a new client or I get the opportunity to educate someone on this crazy market!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not- last year was tough. There were four months that I didn’t make one cent and it was scary. I would lay away at night thinking I made a mistake but I stuck it out, I knew if I just buckled up and decided “this is what I want to do, I will not fail.”

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a boutique real estate firm. There are many realtors and firms to choose from and having a point of difference can be difficult but I truly believe we treat our clients as if they are the only people in the world throughout their transaction. We pride ourselves on being ultra-available, educated on market conditions and ready and willing to do whatever it takes to secure the home of your dreams. We will always be honest and make an unadulterated assessment of your personal situation, making it easier to meet and exceed your expectations.
