Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Carpenter.
Hi Lindsey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Early on, I was drawn to how images can capture the way people experience design, atmosphere, and special moments in life. I attended Texas State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, and during that time, I often used photography as a reference tool— capturing college life then painting from those photographs. I also found architecture and landscapes inspiring which would lead me into my next artistic endeavor.
I began my career by photographing interiors and real estate when I started working at a real estate photography company based in Dallas. I developed my skills over the years doing real estate photography which eventually led me to work as Design Coordinator/Photographer for Jenn Todryk on HGTV’s No Demo Reno. That experience really helped me refine my eye for detail and gave me a huge opportunity to work with some amazing talent. I would go back to work on that show if it ever came back for another season.
From there, I decided to branch out and start my own business, combining everything I’d learned—creative vision, client relationships, and storytelling through imagery. It’s been so rewarding to collaborate with designers, builders, homeowners and realtors to showcase their work in the best light possible.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road, it’s just been a lot of road! When I was first starting out I was driving two hundred miles a day, four days a week, shooting up to six homes a day, the road was long. Some days I would leave before my family was awake and I would come home after they were asleep, that was rough. Today the road is a lot more smooth because I can space my schedule out a little better. I can sit and have tea with my client or homeowners if I want. I don’t think I will ever go back to a schedule that tight.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Lindsey Carpenter Photography is all about capturing spaces with artistry and intention. I specialize in architectural, interior, drone and real estate photography, working with designers, builders, and realtors to create imagery that tells the story behind every project. With many years of experience in real estate photography, I’ve developed an eye for composition and light that highlights both the beauty and function of a space.
What really sets my brand apart is my fine art background. I hold a BFA in Painting, and early in my career I used photography as a tool for my art—capturing real moments and translating them into paintings. That artistic foundation continues to influence my photography today. I approach each project with a painter’s mindset, focusing on balance, mood, and emotion.
I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients, I love my clients, and the way my work helps elevate their own brands. My goal is always to create imagery that feels elevated yet authentic, and photos that not only showcase beautiful homes and design but also make people feel something.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’ve been really fortunate to have so many people support me along the way. Early in my career, I learned so much from the team I worked with in real estate photography—they helped me build a strong technical foundation and taught me the value of consistency and professionalism.
Working on No Demo Reno with Jenn Todryk and her team was also a huge turning point for me. That experience gave me a new perspective on design, storytelling, and the power of collaboration. Seeing how a vision comes together through creativity and teamwork really inspired how I approach my own projects today.
I’m also incredibly grateful for my clients and the designers I’ve worked with over the years. Their trust in my work and their enthusiasm for what they do constantly motivate me to keep growing and refining my craft. And of course, my family and close friends have been my biggest cheerleaders, encouraging me to take the leap into building my own business and continue pursuing what I love.
