Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story is one of great faith. From a young age, anytime I was asked what I wanted to do when I was older, I would reply: “hairdresser.” After graduating cosmetology school, I was called to open a business. See, I have a very unique ability to touch women’s confidence and self-worth within my position. There is never going to be a day that I don’t consider myself tremendously grateful for that blessing. However, I was at a crossroads because I was what one would consider a “baby stylist” with no clientele. But I just had a gut feeling that God would use me and my business to bless so many women. After praying, I was presented with an opportunity to move into a salon suite space and open ‘Wild Soul Hair & Co.’ I created a space that every woman. from every walk of life can come into my space and feel comfortable to express their themselves. As a woman myself, I feel oftentimes we are conditioned from a young age to worry about everyone then ourselves. I invite my client into my space for a serene and relaxing experience that ends with a beautiful confidence within them that is brought to the surface through whatever service they receive.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In my humble opinion, anything worth having will always have trials and tribulations. Opening my business during a time that the world was slowly but surely getting back to our “new normal” was a difficult thing. An impending recession for any small business, especially a small business that is just starting out, was of course a stressful thing. However, I had to make an inner decision: “How bad did I want it?” The answer? With everything I had. As previously mentioned. I consider myself blessed to get to be a hairdresser and connect with my clients in a personal way. Changing my mindset to stop focusing in the present but rather in the future was a tedious task. Understanding that my purpose on not only my life but my business was larger than anything I could imagine. Placing full trust of my life, as well as my business, in the hands of God and letting His will be done was one of the most freeing things I have ever done. I, however, would be lying to you if I said it was an easy thing to do. It is something I have to do daily. I’m not here to sway your convictions, however, I am here to share with you just how good God has been to me. There hasn’t been one moment that God hasn’t provide for every single one of my needs. He has been able to use me as a vessel to speak to those around me and uplift them. Every trial or tribulation I may walk through is worth it for those simple truths.

What sets me apart from others is I create a serene and relaxing experience for my clients.
