Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel Romero.

Hi Manuel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Euclides Manuel Romero, although many people know me affectionately as Don Manuel, “El Margariteño.” I arrived in the United States with my family in November 2018, accompanied by my wife María Alejandra and our children Euclides Jr., Fabiola Alejandra, and Luis Alejandro, coming from the beautiful Island of Margarita, Venezuela.

After our arrival and carefully analyzing the situation in our home country, we realized that returning in the short term was not a viable option due to the country’s risk conditions. It was then that we made the difficult but courageous decision to rebuild our lives and start over in Dallas, Texas.

In 2019, as a family, we set out to continue our journey in the culinary field, an area that has always been part of our identity. This led to the opening of a Venezuelan traditional food restaurant in the city of Carrollton, which officially opened its doors in June 2019. Despite the major challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, and by the grace of God, we were able to remain standing, grow, and continue moving forward.

After three years of hard work and perseverance, we took a new step with the opening of Hello Caribbean TX, a restaurant based on a Caribbean cuisine concept, located in the city of Lewisville.

Hello Caribbean TX was created as a fresh and attractive concept that goes beyond gastronomy. We offer the community a space that fully embraces the Caribbean lifestyle, featuring an extensive and diverse menu focused on seafood, along with delicious and tropical beverages. In addition, we offer a terrace for gatherings and enjoyment, as well as a beach volleyball court, all designed to create a unique experience that transports our guests to the Caribbean and, especially, to our beloved and unforgettable Island of Margarita.

We feel deeply proud to raise a Caribbean and Venezuelan culinary flag in Dallas, Texas, sharing our culture, flavors, and roots with this wonderful community.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been an easy path. It has been a journey filled with challenges, sacrifices, and constant learning. Starting from scratch in a new country required us to step out of our comfort zone, adapt to a new culture, face uncertainty, and make difficult decisions—both personally and as a family.

Even so, every obstacle became an opportunity for growth. The pandemic was one of the toughest tests we faced, but it also taught us the true value of perseverance, family unity, and faith. Through hard work, discipline, and trust in God, we were able to remain strong and turn adversity into motivation to keep moving forward, proving that with effort and determination, dreams can be rebuilt and achieved.

Our business is Hello Caribbean TX, a restaurant born with the mission of offering much more than food: we provide an authentic Caribbean experience. We specialize in Caribbean and Venezuelan cuisine, with a strong focus on seafood and dishes from the sea, combined with tropical flavors, traditional recipes, and a modern touch that sets us apart.

What differentiates us from other concepts is that we care not only about flavor but also about the ambiance and customer experience. At Hello Caribbean TX, we have created a space that transports guests to the Caribbean from the moment they enter, with a relaxed atmosphere, music, tropical cocktails, a terrace for gatherings, and a beach volleyball court, all designed so that our customers can enjoy themselves, share moments, and feel like they are on vacation without leaving Texas.

We are known for the quality of our dishes, generous portions, attentive service, and the family commitment behind the brand. Every detail reflects our roots and our story as immigrant entrepreneurs who have worked with effort, faith, and perseverance to build a solid project.

We are especially proud of our brands, Hello Caribbean TX and our previous Venezuelan restaurant in Carrollton, which was the starting point of this dream. Both represent consistency, cultural identity, and the desire to share the best of our homeland with the community.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe taking risks is essential for growth. Leaving Venezuela and starting over in the U.S. was a huge risk for my family, as it meant stepping out of our comfort zone and facing uncertainty. Later, opening our restaurants, especially during challenging times like the pandemic, was another major risk.

For me, risks are opportunities in disguise. I approach them with careful planning, determination, and faith, knowing that real success comes from stepping into the unknown and working hard to make your vision a reality.
