Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco Dorsey
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Marco Dorsey. I’m the founder of Fly with Fabulous Travel. I’m here to tell you about my amazing career in the hospitality Industry.
I have thirty years of hospitality around my belt. Flight Attendant for four years between two airlines Expressjet and Spirit. I worked on a cruise ship for one contract, which was based in Honolulu, Hawaii on Norwegian Cruise Line. I work at several casinos throughout the Louisiana area. I also work at hotels between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. I earned my bachelor’s in Hospitality Tourism at The University of New Orleans. I’m deeply knowledgeable about how a travel agency works. This is the reason I became my own boss to open my own agency here in Dallas, Texas. I’m happy to serve the people with respect, great service and to give them what they want.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some struggles challenges are competited with other travel agency because we doing the same thing trying to gain clients. Marketing, if you don’t have money this can be a challenge, you have to find ways to market yourself. Networking, if you not a people person this can be a big challenge factor.

I have two events I do every year here in Dallas Fort Worth area. They are Annual events that I ‘m proud of, a Cruise Expo which bring the community together to come out first hand to discover incredible destinations, exclusive offers, and learned from expert travel agents on planning the perfect cruise. It’s the ultimate event for cruise enthusiasts and travelers alike. This event happen in March, I am getting ready for my 3rd Annual Cruise Expo 2025 Dallas already.
The other event is The LGBTQ+ Retreat, this event happen in June doing Pride month. This unique event brings together individuals from diverse background to enjoy a safe and inclusive space for individuals to share experiences, foster personal growth, and promote acceptance. This retreat is a health and wellness retreat.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Finding a mentor is not hard at all, in this industry, any travel agency will help you with no problem. Join other business groups as well.
What works well for me is to believe in yourself. Don’t give up, when things don’t go your way. Keep pushing, don’t be scared to ask for help.
