Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Purifoy.
Hi Mark, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I graduated college with no idea of what I was going to do with a business management. The idea of working as a low level manager anywhere was not appealing so I bounced around from job to job trying to keep my spirits up. I went through several trials and bouts of depression and substance abuse. I managed to get sober and get my life some what in order. My mom mentioned her twin sister’s husband owned an air conditioning company and that I should ask him for a job. I have always loved being outside and working with my hands so I said what the heck and called him. He threw me into the fire from the beginning and I picked up on everything quickly. Air conditioning is a science when it alls boils down and my collegiate background made that part pretty easy. The rest was trial and error and learning from my mistakes, and the mistakes of others. Unfortunately, my uncle has since died from cancer. I passed my contractors license and opened my own company with my wife Whitney called Air Remedy. We are both here today by the grace of God. All of the glory goes to him and without Him none of this story would have been possible. He had a purpose for us all along, and we are able to fulfill it today by trusting in Him and being a good steward of all he has given us.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been bumpy for sure. When starting a business there are a lot of unknowns such as how do you get enough work to pay your salaries while also keeping the business afloat. We explored advertising and marketing but the costs were much higher than we were willing to pay. There were some cold winters along the way where things would slow down to a crawl and we would wonder where the next job would come from.

Air remedy is a residential conditioning company based out of north Fort Worth. It is owned by Mark and Whitney Purifoy. We have been in business for 3 years. We specialize in servicing and installing HVAC equipment for home owners and management companies around the metroplex. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work, the ethical standards we abide by, and our commitment to providing our customers with the best experience that we are capable of.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the people here. I love the diversity. I have lived here all of my life and have seen the growth firsthand.
I think my other answer will resonate with most…the thing I like the least, is the growing amount of cars on the road and the traffic that comes with it!
