Exploring Life & Business with Mary Byrd of Taking Back Health

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Byrd.

Mary Byrd

Hi Mary, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began with a conviction instilled during my time at NYU, graduating in 2015. Like many in the healthcare field, I was indoctrinated into believing that success in nursing lay within the confines of the acute hospital setting. However, the cracks in our healthcare system became apparent. Despite the remarkable care offered, there was a glaring failure in delivering effective preventative measures and empowering individuals with the knowledge to lead healthier lives.

The realization of these systemic gaps ignited a passion within me. I felt compelled to challenge the status quo, to break free from the limitations of conventional healthcare models. It was this passion that fueled the inception of Taking Back Health.

Taking Back Health is not merely a service; it’s a testament to a personal journey. It embodies our unwavering commitment to reshaping the narrative of healthcare accessibility. By offering in-home IV infusion therapy in the DFW area, we strive to bridge the gap between reactive and proactive healthcare. Our aim is to empower individuals with the tools and resources they need to take charge of their well-being. Whether it be hydration, vitamin replenishment, symptom management, or supplement education.

My vision for Taking Back Health is deeply rooted in a desire to rewrite the norms of healthcare. I envision a future where access to preventative care is as vital as acute interventions. It’s a future where wellness isn’t a luxury but a fundamental right. Through our services, we aim to redefine health by prioritizing accessibility, personalization, and empowerment.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As expected with healthcare and dealing with the FDA, there are always curveballs thrown our way. Reseach comes out showing efficacy of specific vitamins in the setting of acute viral conditions, such as Covid, and the FDA works to make those more difficult to obtain. With the increasing popularity of in-home infusions, there are ever-changing policies to ensure patient safety.

As you know, we’re big fans of Taking Back Health. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
