Hi Mary, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my event planning career basically from entering my daughters in a beauty pageant, then planning a quinceanera gor one of them that’s when it all came together and I quickly realized I could do what I loved and still be involved with my childrens activities. I enjoyed meeting snd interviewing people for small events, quickly
ended up interviewing celebrities like Peoe Aguilar, El Buki and that just became a dream to be someone with a purpose, I believe you have to love what you do to succeed and I did the money wasnt there but the passion, the dreams and the desire to be successful fir my kids to be proud of me were bigger than anything I wanted them to be proud of themselves abd he confident they could reach any goal
My passion for service has always been my belief, you have serve with purpose, business and community go together they feed from each other and if you blend in your cultural identity, your traditions you are bringing in the corporate world into the community to better understand the needs and aspirations of your community
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been easy, however I had 4 motivations bigger than anything or anyone
“My children” I had to prove to them you set your goals and its up to you reach them
People not understanding that you have good and bad in every aspect,
Prople seeing you as competition and closing doors, lack of money or limited opportunities as a minority woman you have to prove yourself and work five times harder
