Exploring Life & Business with Meredith Ruiz of Meredith Ruiz, Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Ruiz.

Meredith, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got my real estate license in 2017 and started my career with Keller Williams. At the time, I honestly had no idea what I was doing — I just knew I was drawn to real estate and wanted to build a meaningful career helping people. Early on, I committed to consistent training and one-on-one coaching, which really helped me build a solid foundation and confidence in the business.

After gaining experience, I moved to JP & Associates, where I was honored to be recognized among the top 500 agents in the brokerage. One of the biggest factors in my growth has been consistency — showing up every single day, staying disciplined, and never losing sight of the client experience. Another part of my journey that truly changed my life was making the decision to live alcohol-free. That choice brought me clarity, focus, and a renewed sense of purpose that’s helped me both personally and professionally.

My success has always come from nurturing relationships. I make it a priority to follow up with past clients, ensure they’re happy long after closing, and build lasting connections that lead to referrals and repeat business.

Today, I’m proud to be with HomeSmart, where I’ve been for over two years and ranked among the Top 1000 agents in the DFW area. Around the busy life of being a wife of 10 years and mom of two, real estate is truly my passion — I love helping people achieve their home goals and making sure every client has the best possible experience from start to finish!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started in real estate, I was closing maybe four or five homes a year and just barely getting by. It took a lot of trial and error to find what worked for me and to build the systems and structure I have now.

Like most agents, I faced the uncertainty that comes with being self-employed — not knowing where the next deal would come from, learning how to generate consistent business, and finding balance between work and family life. But through consistency, discipline, and a lot of learning, I’ve built a business model that works.

Today, I have a structured plan that allows me to scale, stay organized, and continue growing every year. Every challenge I faced early on taught me how to be resourceful, resilient, and focused on long-term success instead of quick wins. Without struggles, you won’t succeed to your fullest.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Meredith Ruiz, Realtor ?
I’m Meredith Ruiz, a full-time Realtor® proudly serving Dallas–Fort Worth and my home community of Ellis County. I help buyers and sellers make confident, informed decisions with expert marketing, strong negotiation, and a concierge-style approach that puts communication first.

I believe great marketing sells homes — and I’ve built my business around making every listing stand out. I’m proud to consistently rank among the Top agents in DFW, but even more proud that the majority of my business comes from repeat clients and referrals.

Brand-wise, I take pride in offering a personal, relationship-driven experience. My goal is always to exceed expectations — whether that’s guiding a first-time buyer, negotiating a tough deal, educating clients through every step, or celebrating with them when we reach the finish line.

What I want readers to know is simple: when you work with me, you’re not just hiring an agent; you’re gaining a partner who is fully invested in your success. I show up, I advocate, I communicate, and I deliver. Real estate isn’t just my career — it’s my passion, and I’m grateful for every client who trusts me with such an important chapter of their life!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was raised by a single mother who worked incredibly hard to provide for us. I watched her go from a traditional office job, working long hours, to building her own embroidery business from the ground up, and seeing her create something out of nothing is what planted the entrepreneurial spirit in me. We didn’t have much, but what we lacked in resources, my mom made up for in work ethic and determination. That shaped so much of who I am today — it taught me grit, resilience, and the belief that you can build a different future for your kids through hard work and dedication.

Personality-wise, I was always a natural leader… and very stubborn. I wasn’t the easiest kid to tell what to do, but that independence ended up serving me well. Even as a child, I wanted to be the one who figured things out, made decisions, and took charge. Looking back, those traits are exactly what pushed me to create the life I have now — to hustle for my goals and to give my kids the opportunities I didn’t have.

When it came to interests, I always pictured myself in a role where I could help people. When I was younger, I wanted to be either a teacher or a nurse — two careers focused on service, guidance, and care. It’s funny looking back now, because real estate ended up being the perfect blend of everything I loved: educating, supporting, advocating, and truly helping people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
