Exploring Life & Business with Morenike Olorunnisomo of Body Mind Soul Healing, PLLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morenike Olorunnisomo.

Morenike, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I knew I wanted to be a therapist after taking my first psychology class in high school–I was fascinated by how the mind worked and the impact external factors could have on how a person functioned in the world. Later, in graduate school, I learned about the impact of trauma on a person and how it was basically the root of most issues. My love for all things body and nervous system based via Somatic Experiencing came shortly after that. I came to understand that we can’t leave the body out of the room when it comes to trauma healing. And because of that knowing, I knew that is where I wanted to focus the healing work. I worked for a group practice for several years and am now in my own private practice continuing to see folks individually and in group settings for trauma healing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely not been a smooth road! One of my biggest struggles has been with myself–getting in my own way with fear and doubt. Fears around actually being able to make it in private practice and doubts around actually being able to help people. But I take things one day at a time, one client at a time, one hour at a time. I focus on what (or who) is in front of me. I rely on the therapeutic relationship and try to trust my own inner wisdom as I support people in starting to trust theirs.

We’ve been impressed with Body Mind Soul Healing, PLLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Body Mind Soul Healing, I specialize in supporting people who are navigating complex trauma, chronic stress, and disconnection from their bodies. My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not just a mental process—it’s an embodied, relational, and soulful experience. I help clients reconnect with themselves through somatic therapy, nervous system regulation, and practices that honor the whole person: body, mind, and soul.

What sets my work apart is the way I integrate Somatic Experiencing, polyvagal-informed care, parts work, and embodied mindfulness into a deeply human, culturally-aware, and affirming space. I don’t believe in forcing change or rushing the nervous system. Instead, I guide people toward safety, presence, and regulation in ways that feel compassionate and sustainable. My clients often tell me that my approach feels grounding, gentle, and spacious—like they’re finally allowed to exhale.

I’m most proud of how authentic and welcoming the brand feels. Body Mind Soul Healing isn’t about perfection or performance; it’s about coming home to yourself. It’s an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and build a relationship with your body that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. The heart of my work is helping people experience what it feels like to be met with warmth, attunement, and permission to heal at their own pace.

For readers who are curious, I offer individual somatic therapy, somatic coaching, group process spaces, embodied skills classes, and guided practices that help people move from survival mode into deeper embodiment and resilience. Whether someone is just beginning their healing journey or is seeking a more integrative approach, I’m committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Ultimately, my brand is about honoring the inherent wisdom within each person. Healing is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone.

What were you like growing up?
I feel like I am the exact same person I was growing up, just with adult responsibilities now! I was outgoing, adventurous, and creative. I really valued my relationships both with friends and family and put a lot of my energy there. I have always been very “artsy,” and have at least 2-3 craft projects going at any given moment. I have also always had a love/hate relationship with the outdoors–I love being outside but hate all that it comes with (bugs, allergies, extreme temperatures, etc.). I also got in trouble both at home and in school for talking too much–welp, the jokes on them now!
