Exploring Life & Business with Neil Crane of Core Lifestyle Clinic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Neil Crane.

Neil Crane

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Ironically, my upbringing in Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of Chiropractic, ingrained in me the normalization of chiropractic care as an integral part of healthcare. Just as one would visit a dentist for their teeth or an MD for medications, chiropractic care was routine maintenance for one’s joints. Growing up immersed in this environment, coupled with my active participation in sports, I developed a deep appreciation for the impact chiropractic care had on both myself and the community.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 2007, I pursued my Doctorate at a Chiropractic college in Marietta, Georgia, from 2007 to 2011. My journey into professional practice began as an associate doctor at a multidisciplinary clinic in Chicago, IL, specializing in chiropractic, exercise, and nutrition. Shortly thereafter, my wife and I relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, marking the true commencement of my career.

In 2012, I embarked on the successful expansion of Core Lifestyle Clinic, evolving it into a comprehensive multidisciplinary system spanning three locations within a decade. Spearheading strategic growth initiatives, I incorporated physical therapy, massage therapy, personal training, and a range of wellness services.

In 2023, I transitioned ownership to the existing doctors within the clinics and embarked on a new chapter in Dallas. Establishing a clinic in the Park Cities neighborhood, I recently celebrated the first anniversary of its opening, relishing the opportunity to start anew and continue making a difference in the community.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has had periods of smooth highway but plenty of potholes along the way. Minneapolis, as is now Dallas, was a brand-new city to me, and I didn’t have any network or connections to lean on. As a new graduate & doc out in the field, I had to find confidence in both my clinical abilities and business acumen. With growth came new challenges of managing staff and expectations, there was also tremendous financial risk operating multiple locations and being the singular owner. I have a process though and I trust it, my wife Kara and my family & friends have all always been tremendously supportive as well.

The most recent adversity was selling what I built in Minnesota, taking a huge risk, betting on myself and accepting a short term step back on my career path, for a greater long-term vision.

I’ve been able to maintain perspective along the way; business mirrors life in that regard, but my heart and intention have always been in the right place and set on a singular goal.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
Chiropractic care is our cornerstone, but an integrative, multidisciplinary approach based on patient necessity is what sets us apart. Less treatment volume, more treatment quality, and better outcomes. My goal is to get you moving optimally, then equip you with the tools you need to stay that way and out of the clinic as much as possible.

I’ve seen a lot in my 12 years; I’ve had the privilege of treating a diverse range of patients, from expecting mothers to individuals facing unexpected injuries, desk warriors to weekend warriors, newborns to new moms, and athletes from NFL, NBA, MLB, & NHL to youth athletes.

I am an in-network service provider and accept insurance. We also offer massage therapy with two amazing practitioners on staff.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m an extraordinarily fast eater; I don’t try to be. Took down a Chipotle burrito in less than 2 minutes recently.
