Exploring Life & Business with N’kole Bryant of In The BLK Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to N’kole Bryant

Hi N’kole, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Adversity is defined as a state or instance of serious or continued difficulty or misfortune. Dr. King once said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” This quote resonates deeply with me because my journey has been one of faith, resilience, and the pursuit of dreams against all odds.

Once upon a time, I was the typical woman—trapped in a job I despised, spending my hard-earned money on bills, all the while trying to be a good mom. Stress was my constant companion. I knew something had to change. So, I took a leap of faith and began doing makeup tutorials online, selling makeup. It was a success, yet I still felt something was missing.

Then, in February 2019, my life was irrevocably altered. I was diagnosed with Stage 2B Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Talk about being blindsided—cancer, are you kidding me? That was a battle that tested me to the depths of my soul. But, I am proud to say that I beat that demon, and I have been in remission for half a decade.

Today, in the pursuit of my dream, I wear many hats: Film Producer, Non-profit CEO, Multimedia Journalist, Community Humanitarian, business owner, and founder. I never imagined that I would be doing this magnitude of work in my former life. Cancer was the catalyst that brought WarriorQueen, my community foundation, to life. I am grateful to cancer for giving me a new purpose, and that’s the only reason to even make this statement.

WarriorQueen is a beacon of hope and awareness for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. It offers a space for encouragement and resources, such as mammogram locations and breast health education. Our annual event, WarriorQueen’s Mammos & Margs, is held every October, and this year marks our third year. We are honored to be sponsored by amazing companies, including Suits For Judah, Pan African Connection, National Breast Cancer Foundation, Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey, Kendra Scott, Raising Cane’s, and The Cidercade-Dallas.
Filled with grace and appreciation, I am truly grateful for the journey that brought me to where I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all, but then again what is. We all must understand that, “There are no such things as Stopping Stones, only Stepping Stones,” [A N’kole Original] especially in this world of business. My struggle along the way was not being recognized for my hard and good work. That stings a lot, no matter how many times they see your name on it, that does not matter because you have to realize that they know it’s you, they just refuse to acknowledge that it’s You. You can re-read that sentence again because that was a jewel. You have to teach yourself not to get caught up in that and just continue to do what you do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
