Pineapple Grill Texas, a family-run restaurant with Hawaiian roots. Established in 2017, we began our journey as a humble food trailer, doing special events and catering. In 2018, we proudly expanded to a brick and mortar location in Hurst, TX, allowing us to bring a taste of Hawaii to our local community.
We are proud to be from Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai’i. Our connection to our heritage runs deep and is a very important part of who we are. Pineapple Grill Texas is more than a restaurant; it’s a heartfelt endeavor to share not only our delicious cuisine, but our rich culture and language. With every dish we serve, we aim to transport you to the shores of Hawai’i.
Our vision has always extended beyond the plate. We’ve cultivated Pineapple Grill Texas to be a gathering place, where everyone from all walks of life can come together. Creating a community has always been the heart of our mission. Through food we strive to bridge the gap between the Lone Star State and the Aloha spirit.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a restaurant is challenging, with daily obstacles such as fluctuating food prices and employee shortages. It requires patience, and perseverance to overcome these hurdles and keep things running.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Building community is key and our community really supported us through covid. We learned to adjust and strategically plan according to the current situations and events.
