Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2015 when I opened my own bakery. As a single mom, building a business from the ground up was both exciting and challenging. In 2016, I began doing taxes at first, it was simply something extra to help support my family. But what started as a side hustle quickly turned into a passion. I quickly went from cupcakes to calculators.
Doing taxes gave me a deeper understanding of how to run and manage my bakery. I saw firsthand how important it is for small business owners, especially women and single parents, to know their numbers and take control of their finances.
Over the years, my love for tax preparation has grown. It’s no longer just a seasonal job, it’s a way for me to serve others. I truly look forward to tax season every year because it gives me the chance to help people not only file their returns but also understand their financial picture and make smarter decisions for the future.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it has absolutely been rewarding. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating conversations around finances. Money can be a sensitive and deeply personal topic, so having those tough, honest discussions with clients is never easy but it’s always necessary. Over time, I’ve learned that creating a space of trust and transparency makes those conversations not only possible but productive.
