Hi Princetta, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started off as just an ambitious girl who’d always get compliments on how pretty I was while wearing some of my favorite lipsticks. From the vivid colors of orange and pink to the bold burgundy & red shades. I got the idea of starting a lipstick business when people would always ask me where did I get my lipstick, I thought “I could really be selling my own product instead of advertising someone else’s”. From the 18-year-old me wearing the bright pink lipstick thinking I was Keyshia Kaior I knew that one day I was going to have my own lipstick & be in the beauty industry. I got to where I am today by being turned down by model agencies & using that rejection as motivation & making my own lane in doing whatever I wanted to do. So, I created a name for myself by using my name (P)rincetta (Y)vette (T)erry PYT while investing in something I love; LIPSTICK!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneur lifestyle is never easy and starting and running a business from scratch is no walk in the park. I relied on my personal income, created a savings plan, and made the necessary sacrifices to fund and build my brand. It was all trial and error for me. I was able to learn quickly which of my products were a hot commodity and were in high demand and those that were not so much. As a result, there was some loss, but above all, it was a learning moment. often contemplated to just getting a business loan, buy whatever was needed, and deal with paying it back later. But the determination I had to just do everything all on my own with no help only beleaguered me. I had to learn further down the road that getting help was actually necessary at times. I mostly struggled with juggling a business while being a full-time mother to 3 children & working a full-time job. It was fun a lot of times getting help from my 10-year-old on making marketing videos and learning that I can create time for everything desired with no problem for the reason that it all worked out fine.

My honest brand and making people feel ravishing brings genuine joy and that’s most important in this line of business to me; for others to know that serves me purpose.
