Exploring Life & Business with Rachel Ramírez Robert Ramirez of RGR REMODELING LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Ramírez Robert Ramirez.

Hi Rachel Ramírez, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We’re Robert and Rachel Ramirez, the husband‑and‑wife team behind RGR Remodeling LLC. For the past seven years, we’ve specialized exclusively in residential projects — transforming our clients’ visions into reality through beautiful covered patios, concrete work, and interior remodels. What started as a dream has grown into a skilled, reliable team built on experience, dedication, and a commitment to quality.
But our journey didn’t begin in construction.
Back in December 2016, Rachel and I got married. Just a month later, on January 16, 2017, we welcomed our first son, Jacob. At that time, all I knew was restaurant work. I had been cooking since 2012, working long mornings and late nights, barely seeing my family. I knew something had to change.
In March of 2017, that change came.
A friend recommended me to a remodeling company known for working on high‑end homes with strict standards and exceptional craftsmanship. I had never held a tape measure, never painted a wall, never done any kind of construction. Still, I made the call.
During the interview, the manager asked about my experience. I told him the truth — I didn’t have any. He thought I was joking. When he realized I wasn’t, he went quiet for a moment and then simply said, “See you on this date, at this time, at this location.”
When I hung up, I told Rachel, “I think I got the job… and I’m pretty sure I’ll be making more money.”
That moment changed everything.
Every morning after that, I would tell my wife, “I’ll see you later — I’m going to school.” Because that’s exactly what it felt like. I was getting paid to learn, to grow, and to build the skills that would one day become our own business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The beginning of this journey was nothing like I imagined. Those first months were some of the hardest of my life. I was working twelve‑hour days, earning almost the same as I did in restaurants, except now the work was heavier, harder, and completely unfamiliar. I had no experience, and every day felt like a reminder of how far I had to go.
Money was tight — painfully tight. I was the only one providing for our family, and we were falling behind. We lost the only car we had. There were days when the fridge was nearly empty. Our apartment had no furniture. It felt like everything was getting harder, not easier.
But there was one thing I kept repeating to myself:
“I’m going to school. I’m getting paid to learn. One day, I’ll run my own business.”
Rachel has always supported me, but even she worried. She told me I wasn’t making enough and that maybe I should look for another job. And honestly, she wasn’t wrong — but by then, almost ten months had passed. I was finally getting better. I had learned demolition, drywall, tape and bed. I prayed every day for wisdom, for the ability to understand this trade, for the strength to keep going.
And slowly, things started to change.
After a full year of showing up every single day, learning every part of residential construction, I became more efficient, more confident, more skilled. I started taking on small side jobs. One job turned into another. Then another.
Until one day, I realized I had multiple projects at the same time. I was working with the city, meeting with architects and engineers, and managing bigger projects. I went from making $12 an hour to earning real profit from a single job.
And through all of it, Rachel was right there with me. She learned the business, supported the vision, and became my partner in every sense of the word.
I always dreamed of having my own business — and now we’re living that dream.
We love what we do.
We love the people we serve.
And we’re proud of how far we’ve come

What Sets Us Apart?
Our story is our strength. RGR Remodeling wasn’t built overnight or handed to us — it was earned through years of learning, sacrifice, and dedication. That journey shaped the way we work today:
We understand the value of opportunity, so we treat every project like it’s our own.

RGR Remodeling LLC is more than a remodeling company — it’s a story of resilience, craftsmanship, and family. When you hire us, you’re not just getting a contractor. You’re getting:
A team that listens
A team that cares

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What we love most about our city is the people. This community is built on hard‑working families, small‑business owners, and neighbors who look out for each other.

If there’s one thing we like least, it’s how fast everything moves. Growth is a blessing, but it also brings challenges — higher costs, more competition, and sometimes a loss of that small‑town feel we grew up with. For homeowners, it can mean longer wait times, more red tape, and rising prices for materials and labor.
But even with those challenges, we see it as motivation. It pushes us to stay consistent, stay honest, and stay committed to the values that built our business.
