Today we’d like to introduce you to Rolonda Worthen.
Hi Rolonda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story all began in Indiantown, Florida; A super small town that I’m so proud to have grown up in! It was there where I met the love of my life who turned out to be my High School Sweetheart and is now my husband! Johnnell and I started our life together at a very young age of 15. We were 18 when our first child Johnnell Jr was born. 7 years later, we added Johanna who’s our 1st daughter to be born. 4 years later, our second son Rickeem made his entrance. Last but not least 5 years later; our second daughter who’s also our firecracker, Journee made her entrance! Johnnell and I worked in logistics for a large company most of our young lives before we started our first business, Worthen Catering! Johnnell has always had passion for culinary so the startup of this company just made sense. We initially provided catering services for events of any size as well as weekly lunches for random businesses. The company has now blossomed into a sought-out Catering Company for tons of weddings and corporate events here in the DFW Metroplex! In 2015, the opportunity to move to Texas was presented and we decided to take a leap of faith and make the move. We packed up our family as well as our business and made the move to Forney Texas. After a couple of years here, I became a mobile notary and board member on our town’s PTO board. We both became realtors and created a real estate team, Worthen Realty Team! Our team of agents offer any and all real estate services! After traveling to local towns for a good barber, Johnnell saw the need in our town for a good Barbershop! Shortly after, Cutter’s Gentleman Lounge was created! This sleek and welcoming Barbershop was designed as a relaxing environment for men. We are now working on the opening of Johnnell’s dream, his own restaurant where he can be as creative with his own recipes as he wishes! Southern Social Eatery is expected to open before the end of 2021. We’ll offer Southern cuisine as well as a full bar right here in Forney Texas. We’re so excited and can’t wait to hear the feedback from the locals here. Our story has been full of life experiences, additions, growth, opportunities, and love. We can’t wait to see where our future takes us!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The move to Texas was a small struggle because we left our family and everything that we knew! We’re proud to say that Texas has been such a blessing in disguise for our family.

Partnership as one has been great for us! We enjoy networking and meeting new people of all walks of life.
