Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Williams.
Samantha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began working in the medical field at age 18 and quickly grew into my career with a few promotions. I became a manager over multiple different medical offices and different specialties. After a decade, marriage, and children I was getting burnt out and needed a change in my life. I briefly changed from medical and tried the dental field only to realize it was even more demanding of my time. After having my second daughter, I decided to leave my job with no plan in place after have a long-term career and stability this was extremely nerve-wracking but I decided to take a leap of faith. Within 30 days of giving my resignation, we launched Not Ya Average Sister Cleaning. I was talking to my sister about the idea of cleaning homes and she said let’s do it together and we just went for it honestly without any knowledge of the need for cleaning services. Then wow, we almost instantly became booked and our business just took off. It’s been 1 year and a month since launching Not Ya Average sister and we are typically booked out a full month out at a time. I am so proud of my sister and I for taking a leap of faith and doing this together, it’s been a great experience and to be able to do it together has been even better.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say that, for the most part, is has been smooth, of course in the beginning it’s scary trying to navigate through promoting your business and gaining clients. We would walk door to door with my two toddlers at times passing out flyers from one neighborhood to the next. We’ve had some amazing clients who have become family, who support us, and who constantly spread the word of our business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Not Ya Average Sister?
We are a residential/commercial cleaning company. We offer move in, move out, after party, traditional and deep cleanings. We specialize in deep cleans. I believe what sets us apart is our communication with our clients. Clients don’t go online to click through buttons to schedule their cleaning, they get our personal number and are able to have one on one conversations with myself or my sister. We’re able to explain in detail what’s they’re getting and what services we can or cannot provide for them. Outside of our cleaning being done great, our biggest compliment from clients is that we are professional. We make sure to arrival at our client’s designated time we gave; we update them of any changes down to any little details regarding their home and clean.
Any big plans?
We hope to continue growing our business to the point of adding employees. We’d like to expand a bit further out into the DFW as we primarily service Ellis County and south Dallas. However, we get a lot of inquiries further out like Irving, forth worth, Addison, and Carrollton. We’re so excited to see our business grow and expand even just over the next six months.
