Today we’d like to introduce you to Sanskrithi, Diya Kokkonda, Srinivasan.
Sanskrithi, Diya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
CapitalLink really started in a classroom. We both applied to the Young Entrepreneurs Academy in Frisco, a nine-month program that helps school students turn an idea into an actual business. After several rounds of interviews and pitches, the top twelve ideas were chosen to move forward, and both of ours made the cut. That was the moment we realized we were trying to solve the same problem. We each wanted to increase representation in the entrepreneurial space, so teaming up felt natural. That’s how CapitalLink began.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Once the digital platform was ready, the real challenge began. We knew we needed strong connections and access to professional networks, but navigating that space as high school students was not easy. Gaining credibility as young founders was difficult, and it took time and work to prove that we were committed and capable of creating a meaningful community. We attended every networking event we could find and reached out to professionals who were working in their respective fields. Those conversations were what truly aided us in the development of CapitalLink over anything else. With their support and guidance, we were able to bring our first users onto the platform and prove that young founders can build something valuable.
Another challenge we faced was finding and connecting with investors. We didn’t have an established network at the time, so it took a number of cold emails and networking events to find and grasp onto those key connections. Each discussion with a professional took us a step closer to perfecting our pitch and towards learning what investors and business owners are really looking for in the business landscape.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about CapitalLink?
