Hi Nani, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I’m Nani AKA Shanthisree, a Maternity and Newborn photographer based in Frisco, Texas. I am a wife and also a momma to a beautiful little girl. I have been Photographing for what seems like all of my life. Having access to my dad’s camera since I was 8 or 9 years old, capturing life around us, family, friends, and being creative has always been something I have done.
Being a mother of a beautiful baby girl Aarna, I understand how important it is to capture these moments in time because we all know they grow up way too fast. I never thought I could love photographing babies more until I had my own. Capturing every detail, from those teeny tiny toes and fingers, long eyelashes, milk-drunk faces, and dreamy smiles and looking back at how little she was, has made me even more passionate about what I do.
Maternity sessions are where my heart is at; it’s my biggest passion. Pregnancy may be is common, but definitely not an easy thing. A woman’s body changes through the pregnancy, and the motherhood bond can make you feel things you have never felt before. It is the strength and LOVE for your baby that helps you get through these months.
I want to capture these exquisite moments through the ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY and INSPIRE WOMEN to LOVE THEMSELVES, EMBRACE THEIR BODIES, and FEEL AMAZING.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I started my photography business, there was no shortage of people telling me I couldn’t do it, and consequently, I was afraid to tell people. But, sooner or later, I said, “look, this is what I love to do, and this is what I’m going after”. Then the pandemic happened, and I struggled like many other business owners. The only thing that kept me up and running was my client’s happy faces when they saw their finished artwork. I am glad I didn’t give up; I am so pleased to see myself where I am today.
The biggest lesson for me there was that you have to be unapologetic about what you want. You have to stop listening to other people and letting them impose their limitations on you. Just be you and put in your best efforts.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was born and raised in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, India. My mom Prasanthi was a School teacher and My Dad Sreedhar works for a A.P State government organization. I have done my Bachelors in Computer Science and worked as a Software Engineer before I moved to USA in 2017.
