Hi Sol, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Everything began in 2015 when, at the age of 20, I moved to the United States in search of new opportunities. During my early years, I worked as a waitress in various places, but I never felt truly fulfilled or that I belonged in that industry. Deep down, I knew I was meant for something greater. My husband played a significant role in helping me recognize my worth and encouraging me to pursue my dreams.
In 2019, I took a leap of faith and enrolled at Dallas Beauty Academy to become a licensed eyelash extension specialist. I graduated in early 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. With widespread shutdowns, I had to adapt quickly and began taking clients from home. This unexpected challenge turned into a blessing, allowing me to rapidly build my client base. At the same time, I worked multiple jobs, including house cleaning and making deliveries, to support myself and help my family in Venezuela.
The following year, I continued expanding my expertise by training in Microblading and Microshade with Beauty Angels Academy. I obtained my tattoo license, which allowed me to practice one of my biggest passions. Eager to grow further, I pursued additional certifications in Powder Brows, Lip Blushing, Eyelash Lifting, and Eyebrow Lamination.
In early 2022, a client presented me with an opportunity to open a salon together, and I eagerly accepted. However, after a few months, I realized that the partnership wasn’t the right fit for me. I made the bold decision to move forward on my own, giving myself the freedom to build my business exactly as I envisioned. I partnered with a former classmate, and together, we rented a suite with multiple rooms in Garland, TX, creating a space where we could both thrive.
By 2024, I obtained my Esthetician license and took full control of Solashes Beauty Studio. Today, I offer booth rentals, and our team has grown to three amazing professionals. We work together in a supportive and empowering environment, always helping one another when needed.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! My journey has been filled with challenges, but each one has shaped me into the business owner I am today.
When I first started, I had to juggle multiple jobs as cleaning houses and making deliveries while building my beauty business from scratch.
Another major challenge was my first attempt at opening a salon. I partnered with someone, believing it would be a great opportunity, but things didn’t go as planned. Our visions didn’t align, and after a few months, I made the tough decision to go out on my own. It was scary at first, but it turned out to be the best decision—I had the freedom to run my business my way, and eventually, I took full control of Solashes Beauty Studio.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was learning the language. Moving to a new country and having to communicate in English while building a business was not easy. There were moments of frustration and self doubt, but I pushed myself to improve every day. Over time, I became more confident, and now I can connect with a diverse range of clients, which has helped my business grow even more.
Beyond that, being an entrepreneur in the beauty industry requires constant learning, financial investments, and overcoming insecurities. There were moments when I questioned if I was making the right choices, but I kept pushing forward. Today, I have a growing team, a loyal client base, and a business that I’m incredibly proud of.
Every struggle has been a lesson, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What I am most proud of is that, despite coming from another country and not speaking the language when I arrived, I was able to grow, adapt, and build my own business from the ground up. Solashes Beauty Studio has been an incredible journey of self discovery, and I am beyond proud to have chosen this path as an entrepreneur.
What sets my brand apart is my dedication, passion, and the personalized experience I provide to each and every client. Solashes Beauty Studio is more than just a beauty business, it’s a space where women can feel empowered, confident, and beautiful.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I genuinely love Dallas, and I can honestly say it feels like home. I adapted to the city very quickly. One aspect I do find challenging, however, is the traffic and the aggressive driving style of some residents. As I learned to drive here, I can certainly relate to the initial frustration that comes with it. Beyond that, I am continuously amazed by Dallas’s vibrant energy, from its endless activities and breathtaking downtown skyline to its incredible variety of restaurants that make the city so unique.
