We started Gracie Barra Lindale with a clear mission: to bring authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to our community. Starting from a small group of passionate practitioners, we’ve grown into a thriving school that emphasizes respect, discipline, and personal growth for all ages.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

We started Gracie Barra Lindale with a clear mission: to bring authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to our community. Starting from a small group of passionate practitioners, we’ve grown into a thriving school that emphasizes respect, discipline, and personal growth for all ages. With that in mind, as residents of this city, we wanted to create something that could address this need.
At first, we were afraid to open a school in such a small town, where we weren’t sure people would be interested in Jiu-Jitsu. Then, we faced difficulties finding the right place to open our school.
After we finally found a location, we faced many challenges with the renovation, including a few bumps in the road with our contractor.
After we opened the school, our student base started to grow little by little.
Today, with less than two years in a small town, we’ve already participated in several state tournaments with our students, and we’re now preparing to host our second in-house competition, where we will be bringing together students from our school and nearby cities to test their skills, build confidence, and strengthen our community.

Well, we are more than just a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school — we are a family-oriented community focused on personal development, discipline, and building strong values through the art of Jiu-Jitsu.

What makes us stand out is our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and structured environment where everyone can thrive — whether you’re training for competition, fitness, or personal growth.
