Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Paul

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started with a deep love for creativity, and empowering others—values I saw reflected in my grandmother, which also in turn created a love for beauty products.

As a divorced mom of five (ha, yes 5!), I’ve always had a passion for building something meaningful, not just for myself but for my children’s future.

I launched Just Like Pearls, a luxurious yet affordable lip beauty brand, to give everyone a touch of elegance and self-love. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats—as a mom and as a person. From my first ever temp job sitting behind a desk, to becoming a creative director and entrepreneur under my umbrella company, MLS ENTERPRISES TEXAS LLC.

Every role shaped my purpose. I’m here now blending beauty, strategy, and storytelling into something real, relatable, and lasting.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. In 2020, I went through a divorce that changed everything. By 2021, I lost my home and had to rebuild not just my surroundings, but my sense of stability.

Then in 2022, I lost my grandmother—my biggest inspiration and someone who always believed in my dreams. It felt like life hit me back-to-back, and there were moments I wasn’t sure how I’d make it through.

But through all of that, I held onto my faith. I knew God wasn’t finished with me. Those struggles became the foundation for Just Like Pearls. They reminded me that even through brokenness, there’s still beauty, and that’s what I’ve poured into everything I create.

Just Like Pearls is more than a beauty brand—it’s a movement rooted in resilience, luxury, and self-expression. We specialize in lip care essentials—lip gloss, lip liners, matte lipsticks—that bring out confidence with every swipe.

What sets us apart is the meaning behind the name: Pearls are formed through pressure and time, just like many of us. Each collection tells a story—of strength, softness, and showing up for yourself no matter what life throws your way.

I’m most proud that every product comes from a place of realness. I created this brand as a single mom who’s been through some of life’s hardest storms. I want our customers to feel seen, celebrated, and cared for.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Omg!! I wouldn’t say I’m the kind of person who jumps without thinking, when it comes to big girl decisions (anymore) but I’ve definitely taken major risks—some that shook my entire foundation. Leaving a marriage in 2020, homeless in 2021, and launching a brand from scratch while raising five kids as a single mom—all of those were huge risks. But they were necessary. For me, risk isn’t about being reckless; it’s about trusting yourself and your vision even when everything around you says “play it safe.”

Starting Just Like Pearls was a risk, financially and emotionally. I actually held launching for 3 years due to mental health problems but I believe the greatest rewards come when you choose faith over fear. I think risk is less about being fearless and more about being brave enough to keep going despite the fear. That’s what I’ve done—and what I want to encourage others to ENJOY THEIR CONFIDENCE.
