Back in 2018, I started Events by Midollan by hosting networking events to connect venues, vendors, and companies planning memorable celebrations. I loved the energy of bringing people together, turning ideas into plans, and watching dreams take shape. Those early events taught me the power of community and the joy of guiding couples through logistics with grace.
Then the pandemic hit. Weddings were postponed, and I watched countless couples feel disappointed and heartbroken as their plans were put on hold. The stress and uncertainty were hard to bear, and I realized there was a deeper calling: to help couples navigate this journey with calm and confidence.
So I pivoted and opened a wedding planning and décor business. Today, Events by Midollan is dedicated to helping couples have fun and relieve their stress during this wonderful journey—from engagement to “I do” and beyond. We handle the details, so love can lead the way and every celebration feels beautifully effortless.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh yes, Building a wedding business from the ground up has faced challenges common to any startup. These include defining market fit, securing reliable vendors, managing cash flow, and balancing creative aspirations with operational execution.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I have undertaken a major risk by starting a business from the ground up and have invested substantial personal resources to advance it. I firmly believe this venture will flourish, despite the reality that many companies fail within their first year. I am addressing the challenge head-on, committing long hours, reinvesting personal income, and cultivating trustworthy relationships with other businesses. Equally important, I am focused on building a strong team to drive sustainable growth and long term success.
my perspective on risk treats it as a signal about uncertainty and potential reward, not a moral label. I think about risk as a function of probability and impact, aiming to create value while safeguarding downside. The best approach is to identify high-impact risks, design contingencies, run small pilots, and be ready to pivot or stop if data suggests misalignment. So I lean toward calculated risk, pursuing ambitious moves when the upside justifies the cost of possible failure, but mitigating downside through careful planning and redundancy.
