Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffoni Moss.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making candles in 2017 while living in China, and when I made a massage oil candle, I became interested in learning the art and science of massage therapy. I took a trip to Bali, Indonesia, to take a Hot and Cold Stone certification course, and this is where I fell in love with the mind, body, and soul connection of massage therapy.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggle was finding a comfortable place to practice massage therapy for my business. I started out working in a spa, then began working with clients out of my home, which started to become stressful! I didn’t want to advertise to strangers because my home is my personal space, so I focused on my friends and their referrals. I finally found a place to accept clients which is inside of Our Wellness Community in Oak Cliff.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fon Massage & Wellness?
My brand is focused on natural ways to wellness through massage therapy and eco-friendly candles! I specialize in relaxation and stress management during my massage sessions. Even though the massage is focused on letting go of daily stressors, I still make sure the massage is effective and that every client leaves feeling rejuvenated. I work with clients who run marathons, play football, business owners, soon-to-be moms, stay at home moms, you name it!
What sets me apart from others is that I want my clients to feel how I would want to feel during a massage session. I want to feel safe, heard, cared for, and I want to release my muscle tension. I love that massage therapy is considered a form medicine. I am working alongside other holistic practitioners inside of Our Wellness Community in Dallas to provide affordable care. This is to ensure everyone has access to this type of care and that they are not turned away simply because they cannot afford it. Health is our birthright, and it should be accessible to any and everyone. Catering to people in this way is another factor that sets Fon Wellness apart.
I’m very proud of how far my brand has come because while it all started with just candles and has grown into a wellness brand, I have branched out into teaching classes to educate everyone on natural, healthier options for candles and stress relief.
I have started teaching candle-making classes to inform people of the ingredients that are used in most store brands versus the clean ingredients used in the candles we make during class. Soon, I will begin teaching massage classes again because I believe we should all be healers of our homes. If you take the class, you won’t come out as a licensed massage therapist, but you will have some techniques to help your loved ones when they can’t make it to get a professional massage.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would advise others to make sure you have business finances in order. Know where your income and expense are at all times!
If you are looking for a space to run your business, always remember that the place you choose represents your business. Make sure the place you choose to do business represents your brand well.
