Exploring Life & Business with Timothy And Alassandria Nicholas of The CodeTech Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy And Alassandria Nicholas.

Hi Timothy and Alassandria, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our story began not in a boardroom, but around our kitchen table-surrounded by our six kids, fueled by faith, and driven by a calling to serve. I’m Tim Nicholas, and together with my wife, Alassandria, we founded The CodeTech Collective out of a deep belief that the world’s most innovative tech opportunities shouldn’t be reserved for a privileged few. With over two decades of combined experience in the Workday ecosystem, we saw firsthand how many talented, resilient people were being left out of the tech revolution simply because they lacked access, guidance, or a supportive community.

We asked ourselves: What if a tech school could feel like a family reunion? What if every lesson was grounded not just in technical skills, but in character, calling, and community? That vision became CodeTech Collective-a faith-rooted, family-powered movement designed to rewrite the story of who gets to thrive in tech.

We launched our program with a simple but powerful approach: expert-led Workday training, step-by-step certification guidance, and a radically accessible model with scholarships and flexible payment plans. But our secret ingredient is the community we foster. Every student is known by name, every challenge is met with both practical support and prayer, and every success is celebrated as a shared victory. Our alumni don’t just land jobs-they launch legacies, mentoring the next cohort and investing back into their communities.

What sets us apart is the way we blend the professional with the personal. We’re as serious about job placement and career advancement as we are about spiritual growth and emotional well-being. Our students have gone on to roles at Fortune 500 companies and leading consultancies, but the moments that make us proudest are the calls home, the stories of generational barriers broken, and the sense of belonging our graduates carry forward.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked or underestimated in tech, know that there’s a seat for you at our table. We’re more than a program-we’re a movement. Join us, and let’s build a future where faith, family, and technology come together to change the world-one story, one student, one community at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been anything but smooth-if anything, our journey with The CodeTech Collective has been defined by the unexpected. Like so many entrepreneurs and creatives, we quickly learned that no amount of planning can prepare you for every twist and turn.

One of our earliest challenges was simply getting the word out. We believed in our mission, but quickly realized that building trust-especially in tech education-takes time and relentless effort. There were moments when we wondered if anyone would show up, and we had to push ourselves to market in ways that felt uncomfortable, learning as we went and constantly refining our approach.

Financial hurdles were another reality. As a family-run, faith-rooted initiative, we poured our resources into making our program accessible, but there were times when it felt like we were running on fumes. Unexpected expenses would pop up-technology upgrades, curriculum changes, or even just the cost of keeping our virtual doors open. We had to get creative and lean on our community for support, learning to stretch every dollar and trust that our investment in people would pay off in the long run.

On a personal level, balancing our roles as parents, partners, and founders brought its own set of challenges. There were late nights, missed family moments, and seasons of self-doubt. At times, it felt like the weight of responsibility was too much to carry. But each setback taught us resilience and forced us to clarify our “why”-reminding us that the struggles were shaping us into better leaders and mentors.

We’ve also faced the challenge of supporting students through their own obstacles. Many come to us carrying the baggage of past disappointments or systemic barriers. Walking alongside them means sharing in their struggles, celebrating their wins, and sometimes picking up the pieces when things don’t go as planned. But it’s in these moments of vulnerability and perseverance that our community grows stronger.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that the path is never as straight as you imagine. But every setback has made us more adaptable and more committed to our mission. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth every challenge-because each one has brought us closer to the community and impact we set out to create

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The CodeTech Collective ?

What We Want Readers to Know

If you’ve ever felt out of place or underestimated in the tech world, there’s a seat for you at our table. The CodeTech Collective is more than a program-it’s a movement to build a future where faith, family, and technology come together to change lives, one story and one student at a time.

Join us, and let’s innovate, empower, and transform-together.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Absolutely-we would not be where we are today without the unwavering support and encouragement of so many remarkable people.

First and foremost, our mentors Rico and Altovia McNeal have been with us since before the birth of The CodeTech Collective. Their wisdom, guidance, and steadfast belief in our vision have been a constant source of strength. They have challenged us to dream bigger, held us accountable to our values, and walked alongside us through every high and low. Their mentorship has shaped not just our business, but our lives.

We also owe so much to our incredible assistant, Olu, who truly is the heartbeat of CodeTech. From managing day-to-day operations to supporting our students and keeping us organized, Olu’s dedication and attention to detail make everything we do possible. There are countless days we wonder how we ever managed without her-she is the glue that holds our community together.

Our daughter Caroline deserves a special mention as well. She brings her energy and creativity to every event, helps with marketing, and is always our biggest cheerleader. Whether she’s setting up for a workshop or brainstorming ways to reach more students, Caroline’s support means the world to us and reminds us why we do what we do.

Finally, we are endlessly grateful for our extended family and friends. Their encouragement, prayers, and willingness to step in whenever we need an extra hand have been invaluable. They celebrate our wins, lift us up during setbacks, and remind us that we are never alone on this journey.

Every milestone we’ve reached is the result of a community that believes in our mission as much as we do. We are deeply humbled and grateful for each person who has poured into CodeTech-our mentors, team, family, friends, and every student who trusts us with their future.
