I began my journey in logistics in 2010 as an over-the-road passenger, where I gained firsthand insight into the daily realities and lifestyle of truckers. Those early experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the industry and the people who keep it moving. Three years later, I transitioned into a freight agent role, expanding my knowledge of freight operations and logistics from the business side. In 2018, I took the next step by launching my own freight dispatch company, 360 Freight Systems, where I helped numerous owner-operators secure loads and grow successful businesses. Today, I am proud to be the owner of Elite Fleet Drivers Organization, continuing my commitment to supporting and empowering drivers and fleet owners within the transportation industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Logistics is a very challenging industry, with constant obstacles ranging from sourcing and retaining clients to consistently finding top-paying freight. One of the biggest challenges has been navigating an industry where many people are uneducated about proper processes and regulations, often choosing to do things their own way until they learn the hard way. On top of that, the prevalence of scams and unethical practices adds another layer of difficulty. Despite these challenges, each obstacle has been a learning experience that strengthened my knowledge, resilience, and commitment to doing business the right way.

My advice for finding a mentor or building a strong network is to be intentional, humble, and willing to learn. Seek out people who are already doing what you want to do and who have a proven track record, not just a social media presence. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, show up consistently, and offer value where you can — relationships are built on mutual respect, not just what you can gain.
What has worked well for me is staying active in industry spaces, being hands-on, and building genuine relationships over time. I learned early on that listening more than talking, staying coachable, and applying what I was taught opened doors faster than anything else. Networking isn’t about collecting contacts; it’s about building trust. When you lead with integrity and results, the right mentors and opportunities naturally align with you.
