Today we’d like to introduce you to Valencia Gibson.
Hi Valencia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My real estate journey began in 2008, managing conventional and public housing properties. After relocating from Houston to Dallas in 2015, I continued serving in the industry by supporting a beautiful agent and her family’s business in 2016—an opportunity that came as an answered prayer and a supernatural selection. Those years taught me the foundation of real estate through service, systems, and people.
In 2020, God called me into a new season. He led me to leave the only real estate family I had known in Dallas, step out of my comfort zone, and walk into real estate as my own ministry. I felt like Abraham being told to go to a land he had never seen (Genesis 12:1).
I assumed I was entering that season alone, but what happened next surprised me. Agents from different places in my past—and even those from new environments I entered for continued education—began reaching out. They shared that they felt a genuine connection with me and were drawn to my loyalty, sincerity, and consistency. I didn’t fully understand why, because at the time I struggled with severe imposter syndrome. I didn’t see myself as a leader and certainly didn’t feel qualified to guide anyone. Yet people continued to gravitate toward me because of how I served and carried myself. In those moments, I felt like Moses—called to lead despite feeling unqualified—yet obeying like Joshua (Exodus 13:3; Joshua 21:43).
That’s when I realized I didn’t choose real estate. Real estate chose me. God used this industry as my burning bush, showing me that ministry reaches far beyond the pulpit. Before real estate, I served as a youth pastor in Houston. I believed ministry only happened in church, but I quickly learned that ministry also happens at kitchen tables, during difficult transactions, while advocating for a client, and in moments when an agent feels discouraged. The same grace I carried in church showed up in every room I entered.
By 2021, my life had shifted significantly. I stepped into a level of leadership I never expected. I closed more than thirty-five million dollars in personal sales and even more as a team. I led a team of thirty-three agents, mentored forty at the time, and have now mentored over 117 agents to date. Those accomplishments stretched me, but they also pushed me to become confident in the woman God was shaping me into.
At the beginning of 2024, I began facing personal challenges that changed me. My health declined, eventually requiring a blood transfusion. I dissolved part of my team, took a hiatus, and had to rebuild everything differently. My marriage entered difficult seasons, and raising strong-willed children required a level of prayer and strength I never knew I had. Financial battles forced me to rely on faith in deeper ways. And through it all, God revealed that He was repositioning me. I felt like King David being lifted from the miry pit (Psalm 40:2), yet also carrying the heart and determination of King Solomon to finish what God instructed me to build (1 Kings 6:14).
These experiences taught me that leadership does not agree with perfection. It demands strong character, audacious humility, consistency, and the willingness to keep going even when life becomes overwhelmingly tough. Through the highs and lows, my true identity has become clearer and more rooted. I stepped fully into my voice as The Real Rainbow Coach, helping people integrate faith and strategy to build the lives and businesses God has called them to create.
Today, I stand as a minister, a real estate leader, a mother, a wife, a coach, a writer, and a woman transformed by every step of this journey. Real estate gave me a place to serve, to grow, and to lead in ways I never imagined. It became the vehicle God used to expand my purpose and prepare me for the next chapter.
I have now rebuilt my business around my family—not the other way around—and everything is finally in its rightful place. My faith is rooted in God. I live in submission and total surrender to His plan, free from comparison. My marriage is centered around Him—the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. My children are prospering, and our businesses are aligned with God’s will.
And the story is still unfolding.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been anything but smooth. From relocating to Dallas with very little, to experiencing seasons where I literally starved so my children could eat, this journey has required sacrifice at every level. I’ve had to overcome rejection, false rumors, misunderstandings, and the emotional weight that comes with being misunderstood while trying to do right by people.
Each season forced me to rebuild my business differently. I’ve faced financial hardships, health challenges, and moments where partnerships became more harmful than helpful. There were times when I had nothing left but my faith and the determination to keep moving forward.
Every obstacle refined me. Every setback taught me something. And every challenge strengthened the leader, mother, wife, minister, and entrepreneur I am today.

How do you define success?
I define success as living in alignment with God’s plan for my life. Success is not just numbers, titles, or achievements. For me, it is peace, obedience, and the ability to serve others from a place of wholeness. It is building a business that does not compete with my family or my faith, but strengthens both.
Success is waking up every day surrendered to God, walking in purpose, and knowing that the people I serve feel seen, supported, and uplifted. If I can honor God, cover my family in prayer, and help someone move closer to the life they were designed for, then I am living a successful life.
