Hi Valentin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started detailing when I was a JR in High School and it was Covid year, so I took advantage of my free time since I was not going to school and to make some extra cash, my whole life I’ve always loved to be an entrepreneur. I started with cutting grass, to reselling shoes, taking backpacks of snacks to sell at school (it was the only thing motivating me to go to school haha). I graduated high school and had a full ride to play soccer at a D2 school in Tennessee, however I had a terrible ACL injury and after 2 frustrating years of different schools and injuries I decided to call it done. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, my now wife told me I should get back to detailing. From my past experience and new knowledge on how to market my self and what to actually price my services, not just do $40 details that would take me hours to do. I went ahead and took the risk, and all I can say is that I don’t regret this decision. It has been a lot of trial and error. We started of a Nissan kicks, than a trailer, than a truck, than a van, and now we have added a second unit which is a Mercedes Metris and I can say it is one of the best detail set ups in Texas. We have invested a lot of time to our social media and which we may not have a lot of followers, we do have a lot of activities, we have also grown our google page to over 100 5+ star reviews. We also now have over 20 vehicles in our VIP Program which we service on a bi weekly/ monthly service. We service the FC Dallas Soccer players and many other important people but to us each client is important and we try to give them the best experience possible!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Hardest part is not the detailing, it is the stuff no one wants to do. Setting up a website, google page, asking for reviews. Making content on a regular basis which ends up exting what supposed to be a 2 hour detail into a 4 hour detail. Getting insured or getting a license.
