Exploring Life & Business with Valerie Vidal of The Reckoning Advisory Group-Spiritual Advisory and Mindfulness’ Practice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Vidal

Hi Valerie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Valerie Vidal’s story is one of remarkable transformation, a testament to the power of resilience and the healing journey from childhood trauma. Born in Manhattan and raised on the vibrant island of Puerto Rico, Valerie’s early years were steeped in unimaginable hardship. At just two years old, she lost her mother to an overdose. Her mother was only 26, leaving behind four daughters—the youngest just four months old. Both of Valerie’s parents struggled with addiction, and in the wake of her mother’s passing, Valerie and her youngest sister entered the foster care system in New York.

The years that followed brought trials and heartache, but they also built in Valerie a profound sense of resilience. She journeyed through years of adversity, battling chronic depression and misdiagnosed mental disorders, all compounded by the lingering effects of Complex PTSD. The toll on her health from years of prescribed medication was immense, yet deep within, she knew there was a path to true freedom.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2008, Valerie relocated to Texas, where she built a rewarding career in human capital management, working with esteemed institutions like the Department of Homeland Security, military contractors, and, most recently, the University of North Texas. In 2019 she completed her Masters of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Coaching and Leadership Development. Through her career, she discovered the fulfillment that comes with helping others—an ambition she had always held close to her heart.

In October 2023, Valerie’s healing journey reached a transformative milestone. After years of inner work and a life-changing experience with the healing power of ayahuasca, she experienced a spiritual awakening that clarified her purpose and guided her to found The Good Girl Journey, an initiative dedicated to helping others heal from the invisible wounds of childhood trauma. Now, free from the endless cycle of depression and medications, Valerie embraces life with clarity and strength as a Spiritual Teacher helping others find their light through the discovery of their hidden wounds.

Valerie’s journey, chronicled in her upcoming book, Breaking The Statistics: A Manual to Help Heal the Souls of Childhood Trauma, is an inspiring blueprint for others to find hope, healing, and purpose. Valerie Vidal’s story is proof that the darkest pasts can birth the brightest futures, and that every soul deserves the opportunity to heal and rise.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I always say there are struggles in everything we do, no matter the path we choose. If we chase our dreams, we’ll encounter challenges, and if we hold back, different challenges will surely find us. Struggles are inevitable; they’re woven into the fabric of life. And while this spiritual journey is anything but smooth, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Through every twist and turn, I’ve discovered an incredible gift—the ability to connect with others on a soul-deep level. It’s a level of understanding I could never reach before, one that allows me to truly feel what others feel. There’s something profoundly beautiful in being able to tune into another person’s essence, even if it means experiencing emotions that are uncomfortable.

It’s not always easy, but the depth and clarity I now experience have transformed my life. The knowing of what lies on the other side of these challenges—the freedom, the light, the peace—makes it all worth it. This is the key for me to be able to help others heal.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Through The Reckoning Advisory Group, I proudly serve the Dallas-Fort Worth area as a Spiritual Teacher, guiding people toward healing and self-discovery. My work centers on transforming pain into power, especially for those who carry the invisible scars of childhood trauma. To amplify this mission, I’ve created The Good Girl Movement and The Good Girl Channel on YouTube, where I support individuals in recognizing and using their triggers as vital tools for healing.

What sets The Good Girl Movement apart is our approach to trauma recovery. Rather than avoiding or fearing our triggers, we explore them deeply, viewing them as signals that lead us to hidden wounds that need healing. This shift from victimhood to empowerment is a game-changer in trauma work, allowing people to reclaim their lives with resilience and purpose.

The Good Girl Channel has become a powerful platform for this work, providing accessible content for anyone ready to begin their journey of healing. It’s more than a channel; it’s a supportive community and resource for those who want to break cycles of trauma and live with a newfound sense of freedom. I am most proud of our community’s growth and the feedback from individuals who have reclaimed their lives through this approach.

Through The Reckoning Advisory Group and The Good Girl Movement, I want readers to know that healing is possible. My journey into spiritual teaching is rooted in a deep passion for mindfulness, meditation, and holistic well-being. I am dedicated to guiding others toward self-discovery, inner clarity, and spiritual growth. By integrating my expertise in career coaching with spiritual practices, I offer a unique approach that helps individuals not only succeed professionally but also thrive personally and spiritually.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality I believe has been most essential to my success is resilience. Resilience has allowed me to face challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities for growth and transformation. In my journey, especially working with individuals healing from trauma, resilience means being able to sit with discomfort, both my own and that of others, and finding the strength to move through it with compassion and understanding.

Resilience has taught me to embrace the journey rather than simply endure it. It has given me the courage to explore difficult truths, the perseverance to keep going in the face of setbacks, and the openness to grow from every experience. I believe resilience creates a foundation for all other qualities to flourish because it provides the courage to consistently show up, even when things feel uncertain.

In essence, resilience is the cornerstone of my success—it keeps me connected to my purpose, allows me to help others heal, and ultimately fuels my drive to make a meaningful impact.
